Destiny

The next day Chris was overjoyed when Mick asked her to join the band. Hugs were given all around and they started back up a week later. Stevie and Stevie wrote all the songs and Fleetwood Mac did just fine without a guitarist. Even though Mick and John never udnerstood why he really left, they still mourned over his absence when they would all stay late hours into the night figuring out where the piano solo would go and whether or not Chris should do back-up vocals, or Stevie should. Not to mentioned a crying baby or bickering every once in a while helped with creating a solution. All in all everythings was going smooth. They finished recording their first album in the U.S. and they named it "Rumours." How fitting.

Everybody fell in love with Stevie's majestical performances, and Christine's tearful ballads. Not to mention the cover of the album with Stevie's leg draped over Mick's and Stevie holding baby Lucy in front of her. The record was HUGE. That year "Rumours" hit #1 on the charts for over 31 weeks! They were nominated for best album of the year at the Grammy's, in which the won! After the show all the musicians and celebrities would mingle backstage and Fleetwood Mac came across an old friend. Stevie was the first one to notice him. "Lindsey!"

She said running up to him.

"Wow, Steves. Long time no see. Congratulations on the grammy!"

"You too!" She said.

Lindsey had won best solo artist of the year. Who would have thought so many things would have changed in less than two years!?

"Thanks." He said. "So what's new!? How is the band, and little Lucy?"

"The bands doing just fine! And little Lucy isn't so little anymore! She's almost 2 now!"

"Yeah, wow! Time flies, doesn't it?"

"Yes it does." She sighed.

"So how have you been doing?"

"Just great. Actually I just purposed the other time to my fiancee."

"Oh really! I'm so happy for you! Who is she? Is she in the buisness?"

"Well sorta... Do you remember the secretary that used to work back at the record plant?"

"Carol Ann??"

He nodded. She didn't see that coming. "Well I'm happy for you two! I wish you both the best! And tell her I say hi, along with the rest of the band!"

"I will for sure. Oh, and Stevie. One more questions..."

"M hmm?"

"On Rumours... who's track #2 about?"

She thought about answering. "When the rain washes you clean you'll know."

She kissed his cheek, winked at him and went back over to the band.

He smiled and went back to Carol.

Stevie walked up to Chris and whispered in her ear. "You'll never believe who I just saw."

Stevie told Chris about their encounter. For a second she almost felt a twinge of guilt, or even regret but she immediately recognized it and realized that she had everything she needed already. A loving husband, a beautiful little girl, a great job, great friends and hopefully another baby on the way soon. She joined the band for group photos giving them her biggest smile. Maybe her and Lindsey could have been together is things were different. Maybe if Mick hadn't come along it could have been possible. And maybe they would have been happy together. But she realized that her and Mick love each other very much, and too much for her to throw it away. He came along one promise too late.
