The Face of a Pretty Girl
Mick walked through the doors to the studio with John following behind holding hands with Christine. As soon as he got in something caught his eye. It was Stevie standing over near the front desk! Why was she here? Did she come to say sorry for being totally insane the other night? Mick's hopes rose as he saw her smile and start walking towards them. Just when he thought she was coming to make peace she made a beeline for Chris taking her in for a big hug. He rolled his eyes, probably on purpose just to piss him off.
"C'mon man, let's set up."
John followed Lindsey orders giving Christine a quick peck on the lips before following Mick into the back, leaving the two girls to mingle.
"Oh my goodness! What happened last night!? Mick called our house twice last night, once at nearly midnight!"
"Ugh I'm sorry, he's such an idiot sometimes. I-"
She turned her head over to the desk. "Carol? Would you mind running and getting us tea? I'll have mine bag out today, please."
Carol nodded and headed for the door leaving Chris and Stevie alone. The next thing she needed was her running around telling everyone her marriage was failing! "Anyway, as I was saying..."
She told Chris everything that happened the night before. Chris didn't know what to say. SHe sounded crazy! She created this big scene over nothing! She should consider herself greatful that her husband wasn't coming home all the time either drunk, high or both! But she said nothing, obviously there was something up with Stevie, or something seriously wrong!
Stevie continued venting out her feelings to Chris and she simply nodded her head and agreed. It was the best thing to do when Stevie was pissed! Hell hath no fury like Stevie Nicks! As the girls chatted about the front door opened and in came the young bartender from the other night. He removed the guitar from his back and looked around the room for Mick. And then he saw her. She caught him off guard and he couldn't help but stare; she was the most beautiful woman he had every seen. She stood across the room speaking with what sounded like a british lady who appeared to be slightly older than her. She had long wavy dirty blond hair and was wearing a white chiffon top with jeans and a long scarf hanging from her neck. She was gorgeous. "Hey lad, we're in here!" Mick called from the soundbooth. As soon as Lindsey made his way over to the other men both Stevie and Chris stopped mid-conversation to see who the next amateur was, eyeing him closely. Perhaps too closely. As soon as the door shut Stevie turned back to Chris. "Ugh, that's him? Maybe if for some reason they like him he'll use the money for his first haircut."
"Stevie!"
"What?"
"She's in an awfully bad mood!" Chris thought, not daring to say it outloud.
Lindsey made his way into the boot the the other men. They all shook hands and Mick introduced all the other guys. "Hey mate, glad you showed up! This is John McVie, and those are our prodcuers; Ken Caillat and Richard Dashut and everyone else is roaming the studio."
"Who are the ladies outfront?"
"Oh, they're probably Chris and our secretary back with the coffee!" John said getting up from his seat and leaving the room.
Look like dreamgirl was free! The british woman look pretty hot too, but from now on, he'd have his eyes on her friend, the secretary, Mick said? He gazed through the window admiring her perfect form and night-like brown eyes. He was going to make her his.
