Affairs of the Heart

A couple days later everyone was back in the studio working on the album again, and Chris and Stevie were back to the couch. Small talk was exchanged for a few minutes until Lindsey walked in with his guitar in his hand, looking better than ever. His clean shaved face showing his beautiful jaw line, Curly hair shining and his usual get-up; blue jeans and a white t-shirt. Chris looked over to notice Stevie had gone silent. She saw Stevie practically drooling before him. She watched Lindsey smile and wink at her before disappearing into the studio. "What was that about?" Chris asked as Stevie did her best to stay calm.

"Nothing!" She responded a little too quickly.

"That's codswallop Stevie, and you know it! I saw the way you looked at him! You practically melted into a puddle when he walked in the door!"

She was blushing now. What could she say? She did find Lindsey extremely attractive. "I did not, Chris!"

After all she was married. "Yes I am married." She thought to herself.

She shrugged it off and Chris let it go as she made her way over to the piano. "What are you going to play for me today, Mrs. McVie?" Stevie asked making her way over to the piano and sitting on the stool beside her. She giggled. "We'll see."

She set her fingers on the keys and thought of a tune to play. She played the openeing chords to Ben E. King's "Stand By Me." She sang the first verse giving Stevie goosebumps. She loved it when Chris sang, it felt like home. Her voice was so warm and moving. She decided to join in during the chorus harmonizing in her best soprano. "So darlin', dalrin' stand by me, oh stand by me..."

As they were singing someone from the sound booth snuck out to get some water from the kitchen and they caught his attention. Lindsey made his way down to the corner of the hall and listened to both ladies harmonize wonderfully. They could both sing and play! When the song ended Lindsey returned to the studio as if he had heard nothing.
