Something soft is touching my left arm, then there's a light shake. I heard Ryan's voice calls me softly, wakes me up from my restless sleep.

"Wake up sis! Lizzy! Hurry up! Wake up! Dad is about to wake up soon!"

I blink several times but only see part of his face through my swollen lids. It dawns to me that I'm about to be late and have to have breakfast ready for the Alpha Frost, his Luna and some other people in the pack.

Turning to my cute little angle Ryan, I hug him. The simple movement hurts my ribs so bad but I have no time left. "Thanks bro, I have to go now, and you should too. I don't want to get you in trouble."

Ryan looks at me with his soft, warm, blue eyes; he nods and silently leaves my room before anyone catch him here.

I quickly change into new clothes, which looks more like old rags from dumpster. I wash my face carefully, avoid these swollen bruises and new scars thanks to my pack. I hurriedly run down to the kitchen while holding my whimpers in from the pain. Glancing at the old pendulum clock on the wall, I have exactly 25 minutes to make breakfast for around 30 people, yup it's like magic that I have to perform if I want to get away from another beating. My whole body aches and hurts from the punishment last night, thanks to the 'high and mighty 'Britney. You can hear the sarcasm there right?

Britney is Ryan's older sister.

Ok, let me clear up the whole confusion here; my head hurts from all the hits I got last night so I'm not really making much sense. I'm not related to Ryan at all, I'm just a no-rank wolf in his father's pack. But since I'm so close to Ryan, we talk and share a lot of stuff together, so I decided to call him my little brother. And Ryan calls me sister; he's 11 this year. I can't blame him for not liking Britney; his sister is a real biotch, who is same age as me. I don't really belong to this pack - I was forced into it about 6 years ago.

Everybody fears this pack, since it's one of the most cold-blooded, cruel packs in America, and is under control of Alpha Frost, locates in northern Texas.

About my family, both of my parents were killed when I was 12; the Alpha of this pack commanded his fighters and hunters to do all the dirty work for him. They murdered my dad first, my mom couldn't live on without my dad, and the Alpha was about to turn my mom into his mistress so she killed herself. Clearly Frost is a delutional Alpha who already mated but still want to bed with other women. My parents sent me to my aunt, but Frost's hunters tracked us down and killed my aunt.

Flashback:

"Run Lizzy! Run!! No matter what, don't stop! Keep running! Don't worry about me! Just run honey!"

My aunt was yelling desperately when the hunters caught her, her voice was breaking and it shattered my heart with every single word she said.

Tears were streaming down my eyes but I kept on running, I couldn't look back. I couldn't let my aunt die in vain, I have to keep moving, keep surviving. The wind was blowing harshly against my skin, and it was getting colder and colder by the minute. It was night time so I couldn't see really well my surroundings, even I had wolf senses. My aunt and I were running through the forest, hoping those plants and other living creatures here could cover our scents, but we thought wrong. The hunters were right behind my heels, my wolf and I couldn't keep up with their space- I was 12 with tiny feet and they were well trained hunters. Didn't know when but I just ran with everything I got left, then I reached the edge of a rocky cliff. I couldn't run anywhere else so my only option was jumping down the cliff or getting caught. I' rather die than let them catch me. But before I had the chance to throw myself down the cliff, one of the hunters got me and knocked me out.
