Part 18 :"I was dying but suddenly had a second chance at living."

Michael’s P.O.V:

            “…Then she broke off and ran away from the restaurant. Ariel threatened me that if anything happen to that girl Elizabeth, then she would make my life hell. Even Alex and Joey warned me not to hurt that girl.” I pin the bridge of my nose in frustration.

            “Son, I know that it’s all a mess to you but I think Elizabeth is your second chance mate.” My dad says thoughtfully.

            Before he can say anything further, I interrupt him, “But the thing is you have to understand that I already had a mate, who was a b*tch that cheated on me, I don’t want another mate. I know I’m the next-in-line Alpha, and I need my Luna by my side to support me, also to take care of this pack, but what if she turns out to be the same like that b*tch? It took me so much to get over her, still the pain is there.” This is the first time ever since I left that I tell my parents about my feelings, and it’s not easy.

            “I know you’re afraid to get hurt again son, but why don’t you give her a chance, and for both of you a chance. I already told you what I know about Elizabeth. So it’s your choice son. I don’t want to force you into anything.” My dad tells me calmly. But my mom on the other hand is begging to give this whole thing a chance, not through her voice but I can see it in her eyes. Damn, this Elizabeth must be someone special for my mom to think so, ‘cause my mom is not easy to be fooled by acts.

            Guess I can give it a try to see if both of us, the girl and I, would work out. But there’s still something that I’m confused about, “Dad, the second chance mate is so unreal. I don’t understand.” I tell him flat out.

“I have heard before that if one of the mates dies, or wrongful acts that one of the mates commits, which resulting the other mate breaks the bond; then there will be another werewolf to become that other mate’s soul mate, or some people call the second chance mate.” He patiently explains while I'm pacing the floor.

“So you’re telling me that because I broke the mating bond with my ex-mate so the Moon Goddess sent me another mate?” I ask in disbelieve, even though I heard him loud and clear the first time he said but still. It’s just unreal; I thought there can be only one mate.

“Yes, because you will be Alpha for the strongest pack in America and you need a mate by your side, that’s why you recognize Elizabeth as your mate. She is your second chance mate, who will support you, care for you, cherish you, and love you. I know that she will do all that and will become a wonderful Luna.” My dad concludes.

After thinking a while, and shutting my wolf out ‘cause he’s already on Elizabeth side as he calls it ‘Team Lizzy’, I tell my parents my decision, “Fine, I will give it a try. My head’s hurting; I’m going out for a run. I will be back in time for the party I promise.”

With that said, I take off and going down stairs to get some water first then I will let my wolf out.

As I’m heading toward the kitchen, I smell the most mouth-watering sense that I’ve ever sensed, even better than my ex-mate’s smell. It’s a divine and elegant mix of tropical fruits. I can’t describe it with words; my nose leads me to the owner of the sense. In front of me is the most angelic girl ever – Elizabeth, my second chance mate, who is graciously coming my way.

She looks so beautiful and sexy at the same time in those jumpers; it shows off her tan, long legs that look like they can go on for miles and miles. Her hair is up in a bun, with a few strands escape from it, that I would love to tuck them back in place with my fingers. And her face is just so gorgeous without caking-on makeup.

She must be thinking about something really hard, ‘cause she doesn’t even notice me here. So I decided to tease her a bit, “hello princess, going somewhere?” I take her by surprise and pin her back to the wall with my arms trap her in place. This makes my wolf howls, he wants me to mark her now, so horny.

“I-I was …I was g-going to the k-kitchen.” She stutters because of my sudden appearance, and maybe because of my change of mood. She’s so cute right now.

I reply honestly, “You look so beautiful that I couldn’t help but stopped you before you go anywhere, princess.” She nervously licks her lips. Damn, that movement makes my heart beats faster as my wolf grows hornier, and my blood shoots down to my private area even more. Sh*t I need a run badly after this conversation.

“Thank you and you look not bad yourself.” Did she just compliment me? Uhm, my little mate can be bold I see. My wolf is grinning inside like an idiot right now; he’s on cloud nine by just those five words.

Oh yeah, I have to tell her this before I take off; I need her to forgive me first before even thinking about give this whole thing about us a chance. When I saw her ran away from me, it pained my heart but I was too confused to go after her. “I’m sorry that I said what I said at the sushi bar. I don’t know what came over me, but I want to apologize for my stupid words. We will talk later about us. But now, will you forgive me, my precious mate?” I try my best to apologize to her. I’m holding my breath and wait for her answer; this is truly nerve wrecking.

“Yes, I forgive you but only on one condition, you have to give me the reason why you said you didn’t want me.” I’m so glad she forgives me, and of course I will explain everything to her.

“I promise you I will.” My voice comes out a little breathless.

“Well, I’ve got to go now. Anna called me for help.” She suddenly speaks out, well I guess I have to let her go for now, since I really need to run to clear my mind.

“I’ll see you later then little mate.” I whisper in her ear and release her from my hold. It dawns on me that with her dresses pretty like this, all the pups in the pack will try to put their hands on her. My possessiveness comes out and makes me pull her into a tight hug. Gosh, she fits perfectly in my chest, I sigh in contain; I would love to hold her like this forever. Everything I want to do for her rush through me like a wave of tidal- keep her safe, protect her, and also want her. Damn, this girl is waking up those emotions in me that I’ve tried to bury those past few years.

“Uhm Michael.” She breaks the moment; I guess Anna is calling her through the mind link. And trust me, you don’t want to make Anna wait, she’s even scarier than my mom if she wants to.

 “Sorry princess. My sense stays with you now, so every single pup in this pack will know that you are mine and I will break them in half if they dare to touch what’s mine.” I tell her proudly now that she belongs to me, and I don’t take lightly whoever crosses that line. Werewolf or not, if any one touch a single hair on her head, I will kill them without hesitation.

Sh*t, I need that run to cool me down and a cold shower; I’m becoming one of those lovesick school boys. With that in mind, I walk away and head toward the big forest behind the pack house. Passing the door, I see Elizabeth’s reflection is still standing there dazed; I laugh quietly, at her cute face that still fixes on me.
