Chapter 20.5
(Song for this chapter, Fall To Pieces by Avril Lavigne <3 )
"Do you still like him?"
Zoey asked curiously. I didn't respond and not planning to.
"Let's be serious for one moment." She stated.
"Excuse me, you were the one that kept making fun of me earlier." I argued.
She rolled her eyes and huffed. I just gave her a glare and crossed my arms.
"Can't we just have a little fun?" She asked.
I shooked my head.
"Whatever. Okay. Back to the topic."
I sighed and scratched the back of my head.
"This crush of yours is something. You know a lot of teenagers experience this kind of stuff." She stated.
I nodded my head and started listening to her more.
"When you realized that you like the person, it's hard to hate them or even forget about them." She said.
She's right. These past few weeks I kept reminding myself to just move on and let go. Everything was fine until I started see him again. It's really difficult. I can't find a thing to hate about him.
"I have a lot of friends who has been through like that. I'm just lucky that I am not a romantic moron who would like somebody." She said with relief.
"What did your friends say? Did they move on?" I asked her.
"Well, they told me that moving on is one thing. They told me that moving on is a process that you need to always remember until you've gone numb. I'm not a love expert, but what they say is true." She said.
"Why are you telling me this?" I asked her.
She sighed.
"When I saw you outside, I knew that you needed someone to talk too and it worked. We tell each others secret, we even played video games....." She trailed off.
She then stared at me deeply.
"We became close." She said sincerely.
I stare at her with disbelief. I looked away and close my eyes.
"So, what am I going to do? Since I like him.." I changed the topic.
"Forget about him." She said.
"I've done that like a million times, and still I kept going back and forth." I said with annoyance.
"Make it different this time. I'm here your friend and I promise you that I will help you through thick and thin." She promised.
I couldn't believe what I was hearing. Is this real? Am I dreaming?
"You know it's so amazing how we can be really close friends in just a day." I said.
"Oh it is." She said.
Silence surrounded us.
"So, what now?" I said breaking the silence.
"Now, we start forgetting your crush. Let's pretend that crush of yours dosen't exist." She said.
"How?" I asked,
She smiled. She make herself comfortable and stare at me with a wide smile.
"So, any boyfriends yet?" She said with full of curiousity.
I smiled along with her. I must admit, pretending that someone you like doesn't exist is one of the best advice that I can follow. With enough patience, I might forget about him.
"No. Why would you ask?" I asked her, playing along.
She then smiled again.
"Well, you're a cute guy and I know that every dude would die just to go out with you." She winked at me.
I blushed deeply. Man! How can one lesbian made me blush?
"I'm not interested to enter such foolish games. Besides, I don't think I can ever be in a relationship when in the first place I am the one who is foolish." I explained dramatically.
'How deep' she mouthed.
I chuckled silently.
She coughed fakely and stared at me seriously.
"You can't still move on from him? Don't you?" She asked.
I gulped. It's amazing how everything went so serious. I guess this is the part where 'moving on until you're numb' comes in.
"I'm trying. But I am afraid that trying is the only best I can do." I admitted.
She frowned. She fake sighed.
"Don't worry darling, you can move on. Besides, this is a party! You should talk to someone who's like single and part of the rainbow community!" She said with excitement.
I smiled at her and chuckled.
"Yeah. Maybe I should!" I said.
Zoey smiled again. She was about to grab my hand but someone distracted our scene.
"Come on Matt, we're going home."
My eyes widened. That voice!
Zoey looked behind me with a curious look.
"Matt, who is that guy?" Zoey whispered.
I frowned deeply and then put on a fake smile.
"The guy I like."
