Chapter 44

Matt watches Zac with widening eyes. He gulps nervously as he breathes in quietly. Zac didn't move, but to just stare at Matt with the same expression.

"Y-you...w-what..." Matt stutters slowly as he begins to speak. Zac stays frozen and there is nothing else much to say but to just stare at the other boy with a shocking expression.
Matt understands what is happening. From the way how Zac touched his lips, the way Zac pulls away and looks a him with agony. It's all clear to him now.... Zac Davis likes him

But, it doesn't seem....natural to him. It was different. For the past seven months, he learns how to accept Zac's nature. He learns how to accept how he behaves and how he copes with other people. It's really shocking how a stupid English project can create such a big factor for the both of them.

But, It wasn't just a stupid English project. It was a project that created something between the both of them. How the nerd with the glasses becomes an attractive guy with contact lenses. How he got new friends because of Zac's ignorance and especially, How his crush insulted him and how he got over it.

Life is full of wrong words that becomes sentences and ended up being said.

It's better left unsaid.

Matt looks at Zac once again. He fakes a cough to break the awkwardness. "So..." He said and trailed off.

Zac scratches his forehead and let out a small sigh. "I shouldn't have done that." He says as he looks away from Matt.

Matt shooks his head. "But you've done it. You've done it anyways." He stated and quickly stands up, throwing his hands on the air.

"I was also surprised! Don't blame me for kissing you!" Zac retorted as he stands up.

Matt let out a fake loud laugh and looks at Zac with so much amusement. "Are you hearing yourself right now or did that bruised eye also fucked up your brain?!" He asks angrily.

Zac clenched his fist as he glares at Matt. "Look, I am confused for what I did! I've been confused for the past three months because of you!" He says as he points at Matt.

Matt scoffs and raise an eyebrow and cross both of his arms. "Confused of what?" He asks.

Zac looks at Matt in the eye. He sighs as he rubs his face. "Confused for what I feel for you." He says lowly.

Matt didn't say anything but to look at Zac with a horrid expression. "What do you feel for me?" He asks Zac.

"Don't act so fucking naive now Evergreen." Zac says and scoffs. Matt looks at him with an eyebrow raised.

"Come on. Say it. what do you feel for me?" Matt asks Zac as he walks closer to him and stares deeper into his blue eyes.

Zac feels shock to what he is hearing. It feels the tables had been turned. "You know what I mean." He says as he stares back at Matt's hazel eyes

Matt shooks his head with disapproval. "Nope. I don't know what you mean." He says as he walks a little more closer.

Zac could feel his heart pounding from nervousness. Earlier, he was the one who is teasing Matt. But, now it's all different.

"I like you." He simply stated.

Matt slowly looks away from Zac. He let out a light chuckle.

So, it is true. Zac Davis likes him. Zac Davis likes Matt Evergreen.

"This has to be a joke." Matt says as he rubs his chin in amusement. Zac rubs his head In frustration as he walks closer to Matt. "I am not joking Matt. I do like you."

"Who was it?" Matt asksz Zac raised an eyebrow. "Who was what?" He asks him dumbfounded.

"The one who told you to do this bet?" He says as he looks at Zac with a glare. Zac shooks head in disagreement. "This is not a
bet! I am not lying!"

Matt looks at him with a mocking expression. He cross his arms and then rolls his eyes.

"And do you honestly think that I will believe you?" He asks with disappointment. Zac sighs and walks closer to Matt and grab both of his hands. Matt begins to feel intimidated.

His breath hitches and his heart begins to race. "This is not a bet Matt. This is full on feelings and no hard attachments. I like you Matt." He whispers under his breath.

Matt couldn't do anything but to just stare at him. "You can't like me." He simply says. Zac looks at him with puzzled look.

"Why not?" He asks. "Because you just can't!" Matt raises his voice and pulled away from Zac's grip.

"It's maybe easier for you to confess, but its nothing compared to what I feel for you months ago! You were this inconsiderate jerk who have done nothing but to just boss me around and now we establish something as friends, I finally begin to understand more of you. But, right now this is just too much." He explains as he could feel his anger boiling up inside him. He never been this confused yet so annoyed.

"What do you mean?" Zac asks. Matt sighs heavily. "I use to like you too Zac. Used to." He says and sits down on the nearest wooden chair.

"You liked me? You never told me." Zac says as he walks closer to Matt. Matt shooks his heas in frustration. "I could never tell you. It isn't easy to confess to someone who is uptight like you." He says.

"You are this popular jock who had sexual relationship with different type of girls. Everyone sees you as superior and you treat people like me so different. I don't know what I had done for you to like me or think that you like me." He continues, feeling frustrated.

"I do like you Matt. I have many people telling me that I have problems with my attitude. Hell, my parents even told me that." Zac explains.

"But, when you were the one telling me those kind of stuff, It was different. You didn't talk behind my back to do it, you just full on told me everything that you felt. After what happened to your room, it makes sense to me now. You are different." Zac continues.

Matt looks away from him and closes his eyes and looks back at him with a blank expression. "Anyone can just tell you that Zac. Who knows, maybe if someone else who isn't me told you about how arrogant you are, you're maybe falling for them too."

Zac didn't say anything, instead he shooks head.

"I don't know. But, I know what I feel for you is true. I am not willing anyone to change it. You make me feel happy Matt even if it's just texting you. It's like I finally had someone who told me what they really felt about me."

Matt sighs. Right now, he feels foolish. He moved on but, something is pulling him back to his feelings before.

"Matt please, give me a chance to prove myself." He says he holds his hands again.

Matt looks at Zac with a hard look.

Confusion thoughts begins to pop out. Give him a chance or just reject him. Make up his feelings or brake his heart.

He mentally scoffs. Zac broke his heart several times. Do it for revenge!

Matt mentally shooks his head. Now, all he could ever say was—

"I'll think about it."
