Chapter 23

"WHEN ARE YOU GOING TO LISTEN?!"

My body tensed up even if I'm here sitting in the couch in our living room.

I stare at my mom's blue eyes. Her brunette hair is still neat. She is wearing a business attire from their recent trip.

My mom questioned me for the hundreth time. I couldn't do anything but roll my eyes with annoyance.

"Partying till the morning?! What's wrong with you?" She asked

Anger is written all over her face. I could tell that because she already reminded me like everyday not stay out late.

"You could have been hurt! Are you even listening?!" She shouted

I just stared at her with an annoyed look. I really don't care if shes angry.

"Christina, can you just stop."

My dad suddenly butchered in. I look at him as he walked to the living room. His crystal
Blue eyes stares intensely at my mom.

Just like my mom, he is also wearing a business attire. His suit covered his mascular form. His hair is neatly arranged. He hold his briefcase from his right hand.

Judging from his voice he seems to he tired and sleepy.

"Can you just leave the kid alone. Teenagers needed time to cool off too!" He argued as he put down his briefcase.

My mom gave him a death glare. She huffed loudly.

"Don't give me that crap Christopher! There's more time to have fun but not in this type of occasion!" She argued back.

The way my mom said my dads name made me more annoyed.

I hate it when they fight. Even if I started it.

"Cut the bullshit. He's back here at our house in one piece. What are you so upset about?!" My dads voiced started to raises

"I am upset because he didn't listen to me! I've always reminded him over and over again!" She pointed at me and yelled.

She put her hands on her hips and started fuming.

My dad let out a heavy sigh. He rubbed the tback of his head and stare at my mom with despair.

"Just give it a rest Christina. We still have somewhere to go to. Screaming won't make us get there quickly." My dad said.

Mom close her eyes and scatched his head with frustration.

"Don't make me remind you again." She sais an angry tone.

With anymore hesitations, she walked away and going to god knows where she's going.

I sighed and crunched my face.

"What have you done this time?" My dad asked tiredly.

"I was up partying. It wasn't all night cause I came home before twelve in the morning." I explained.

He scratched his head and sighed.

"You know your mom is just looking out for you. She's ju-"

"Whatever dad. I know." I said cutting him off

He gave me reassuring smile.

"I'm glad you understand." He said.

He walked closer to me and pat my back.

"I apologize for your mom. She's been stressing lately because our business partner bailed on us since last week." My dad said

I flashed him a concerned smile.

I sometimes understand why they act so strict. I really do.

"I'm also sorry dad. I've been headache to the both of you since day one." I sadly said.

He frowned and shook his head. He ruffles my hair and stares me at the eye.

"You're not a problem son. It's just your teenage years taking over. Once you're an adult, you'll be able to see your efforts." He genuinely said.

"Believe or not, I was just like you. Always making trouble and kept partying like it's the only thing that I do best. Then I became and adult and met your mom thats when I realized that I have to do my best for her and you." He added.

"You just have to find the right person to see right through you. Even if that person isn't all that." He said.

I nodded and smiled widely. I never knew my dad give best advices before. We always talk but not this deep especially when my mom and I fights.

It's the only thing to fill the attention that I needed and I'm okay with that.

"Well, I have to go now. We just got home last night and we have to go out again by exactly thirty minutes from now." He said.

I nodded.

"Okay dad. Have a safe trip." I said.

"Thanks son. Have a nice day. Go to the gym, it releases your tension." He winked at me and picked up his briefcase.

I chuckled. I watch him leave to go downstairs.

I smiled at the thought of my dad helping me out. He is been always there for me even in the slightest problems. Even if he has short times and I always notice that he will catch up during holidays or non-working days.

As for my mom, I don't know about her. She sometimes acknowledge me but more focused on her work.

Whatever. As long as I have my dad, I'm fine.

Afterall, his advices always helped me

I can't stop wondering about what my dad said earlier.

'You just have to find the right person to see right through you.'

Curiosity started buidling up inside my mind.

"I wonder where you are."
