Chapter 1

Jaymes POV

The bell rang signalling the end of the day. Everyone got up, packed their things and hurried towards the door, today is the last day of school,

“Jaymes!” Viola ran over to me “am I still sleeping round tonight?”

“Im not to-“she cut me off before I could finish

“Great! Me and Liam will be over at seven, I’ll bring round some really scary films” she gave me a hug then ran off to catch her boyfriend, Liam. He got kicked off the basketball team last week, nobody knows why, he says he quit but everyone knows he got kicked off because basketball is his favourite sport, me and him used to be great friends and play all the time, that was before I started going out with his best mate then things just kind of changed. I sighed thinking back to how good things were between me and Jason,

‘Stop, stop, stop! You need to stop thinking about him Jaymes, he doesn’t mean anything to you anymore,’ I scolded myself.

I walked up the drive way leading to my 2 story house with five bedrooms and a swimming pool outside, my parents wanted a huge family but mum became really ill after having me and couldn’t have any more kids, she was devastated. My parents thought about adopting but for some reason they never got round to doing it with all the work they do. Pulling out my house key and unlocked the door. I through my bag on the couch, walked into the kitchen to search for some food. I walked towards the fridge and noticed a note held on by a picture of me, dad and mum in our last family photo, A couple of months after the photo was taken my disappeared, it was heart breaking, mum still thinks he’ll come home from work every day and I have to keep explaining to her that he won’t. It’s been two years and it still hurts to remember that he won’t be coming home. I felt a tear roll down my left cheek; I wiped it away. I pulled the not out from behind the picture,

‘Jaymes, work called, they need me in to come in, I’ll be home around 6, feel free to cook yourself some dinner, love mum xx’

I don’t know why she didn’t just text me, but I guess it was more heart warming to come home to it.

I skipped out on dinner and went straight to my room to tidy it before Viola and Liam come round, ill probably be the only one watching the film while them to make out.

I had just finished my room when the doorbell rang, I checked the time 5.45. Who could that be? It couldn’t be mum, she has her own key and it’s too early for V and Liam to come over, I ran down stairs opening the front door to find my mum standing there with her hands full of shopping,

“Here mum let me grab some of those” I reached out but she took a step back,

“n-no its alright darling you can just go back into your room now, I-Im fine now thank you I just couldn’t open the door because I had forgotten my key” she barged past me and went straight into the kitchen. I couldn’t help but follow her

“Mum? Is everything ok?” I asked, she just nodded her head and proceeded to unpack the shopping. “If you say so” I sighed then went back up to my room. I took my phone of my desk ‘Hey V, Im not really up for tonight, you think we could watch the films another night? I just want to sleep, hope you don’t mind, sorry J’ I sent Viola a text, hopefully she won’t come round tonight, don’t get me wrong I love the girl she’s my best friend, Im just really tired and don’t particularly want to listen to them two eating each other’s faces all night.

I shifted my phone around in my hand waiting for her reply, just as I put it down it buzzed,

'Hey J, yeah sure we can watch them another night, catch up on your sleep, hope your better for tomorrow because we’re going shopping! :P’ was what she replied. I sighed falling back on my bed letting my dreams pull me out of reality.
