Prologue

Prologue

Jason’s POV

There was less than a minute left on the clock, we were down 2 points. The team exhausted, the lions were just hanging onto the ball to waste time so they would win. I called a time out, the team came over,

“right there’s just enough time for us to make this our game if not a draw, now the lions think they’ve got this in the bag, it’s time for us to swoop in and claim it ours. Liam you go for the ball pass it to Ryan, Ryan you get as far down the court as you can take the shot, if you can, if not pass to anyone who is free” I looked round at the team, they were pretty tired, I had faith in them to win us this game, it was the season final one of the biggest games in the whole school year.

“alright guys hands in” I stuck my hand out, everyone else did to “one-two-three, tigers!” we all shouted then ran off back onto the court, the lions were looking pretty confident this was their game, number 3 on the lions went to pass the ball to number 5 but Liam swooped in and caught the ball, he sprinted down the court with Ryan on his heels getting ready for the ball.

 ‘Liam, Im open, pass the ball!’ Ryan said letting Liam know he could have the ball, we use our pack connection to talk to each other putting the opposite team at a disadvantage because they won’t know our next move,

‘No chance’ Liam didn’t pass going for the shot himself, he missed.

‘LIAM!’ the whole team shouted, the whole basket ball team are werewolves, Im there alpha and captain,

‘guys let’s get back to the game, wave got 30 seconds left to take the game so don’t mess up, Liam next time you disobey my orders your off the team’ the team wasn’t looking at Liam anymore, they were looking at me, they knew I was serious because my eyes were going redder than normal

‘Now get the ball!’ I shouted they all focused on getting that ball, Jamie got it, running down the court, he got to the half way line before passing it to me; I took one last look at the clock, 4 seconds to go. I jumped, flicked my wrist pushing the ball out of my hands, I watched the ball fly towards the net making a swishing noise as it went in giving the tigers 3 points making us win the game. The room was filled with cheers; the crowds were standing and clapping for the team,

“Nice team work guys” I said aloud, I made my way out towards the changing rooms when I was engulfed in a huge hug from behind,

“Well done baby” Jaymes said before pulling out of the hug, I looked around, I gave her a quick kiss on the lips. She doesn’t know about werewolves and that the whole basketball team are one, and id like it to stay that way,

“So do you wonna ditch the after party and come straight to mine maybe we can have a bit of fun” I gave her a flirty wink, she had a shocked look on her face

“Im sorry?” she said

 “I said, do you wonna come to mine instead of going to the party?” I asked again, her facial expression was the still the same, but instead of talking she kicked me then stormed off

She looked back before turning the corner “we’re over!”
