Chapter Two:The Awakening

Without thinking too hard about what I was doing,I headed outside behind my mother, and behind us my aunt and Uncle were silently raging muttering about it being complete bullshit. I would have to admit,that in their defense it is hard to believe,but my gut literally is telling me that something about what she's saying is true.. there's this warm,tingly sensation running through my body. Like I'm coming back to myself after so long. We went out back,and before I could say a word,she grabbed my hand and suddenly everything in my vision went completely black.Before I could react, my head had this intense pain in my temple,and then my eyes opened.
These eyes,weren't my eyes though,they kept blinking when I wasn't,and then I realized what was happening.
I must be seeing through my mothers eyes. In a small cabin of some sort surrounded by a thick Forest of trees, in a dark kitchen,there was a strangely familiar scene playing out in front of me . She was staring at a toddler,with dark black hair,light blue eyes and high cheeks,who was standing next to a man who was staring directly at my mother with sad eyes.His eyes were brown,the shade of my uncles,and I knew this was my mysterious father. He had dark brown curly hair,tall and buff with a mark on his shoulder exactly like me.
"Anna,we can't stay here.Elaine isn't like either of us,we don't know how she'll grow,and you know they want all of us dead."his voice was so deep and caring and gentle.
My mothers eyes pooled with tears,"But she's my baby. Our child. I'm not going to let anyone hurt her..if you could just lead them somewhere else we can leave tomorrow night, the sun is rising and I can't go anywhere yet."she pleaded.It was a strange sensation. I could feel everything she was feeling,the despair,the anguish..it oddly sickened me.
He looked down at me,and now I was staring at him raising my arms up for him to hold me,he bent picked me up and placed a gentle kiss on my forehead.
"My little Lena..I'll keep you both safe."He put me down.
"Anna I'll be back,make sure you stay in doors and keep Lena quiet."
My mothers heart swelled,and she nodded looking down.
As sudden as it happened I was whipped back into the present time,and I discovered I was on my knees clutching my head tightly.
"Lena?LENA!"Uncle Jeff was screaming trying to bring me back to the present. I hadn't realized I was crying,almost sobbing because I knew what happened after that. My father died. So the fact that he died at birth was a lie,almost my entire life was a lie and to add on to it,I was some sort of freak.
"What did she do to you?!"My aunt yelled.
"It's all true.."I sobbed barely able to contain myself
As I was crying the tears were for my father,for the man who adored me and loved me until his last breath was literally doing everything he could just so I could live. And what's worse? I never even remembered him,and I hated my mother. It wasn't fair they couldn't be together. I ruined their life..and now my mother the only one that knew anything about my past, was about to die soon.
"Elaine..I'm sorry..I'm sorry for everything.. I should have told you sooner..but-"
"No mom...I'm sorry.I'm so greatful..I'm so sorry for being so mean and callous towards you.. Please,tell me everything I need to know. We have to try to save you."I interrupted her.
Her eyes widened in shock as I stood up tall, my tears momentarily halted.
"Look,Lena...What do you mean its all true? Your not human? My brother wasn't? Don't you think I would have noticed !?"Uncle Jeff yelled. His eyes were pooling with frustrated tears,I reached out and grabbed his hand reassuringly.
"Uncle Jeff.. I love you. I love you and Aunt Janice so much. I appreciate everything you've ever done for me,but this is something that you were never apart of because I believe my parents were trying to keep you safe..Since the elders,whoever they are,are after me,I don't feel right staying here knowing I could put you in danger."I say calmly,but really my heart was pounding. I can't stay here. I know why my mother came. She's protecting the one she loves. Now its my turn to do the same and I would not fail.
Aunt Janice reached us,tears streaming her face.
"Jeff..we have to let her go.As much as it hurts..she's going with her mother. Her mind is made up. We have to just trust in the fact that she'll be okay and hopefully be able to come back and visit."she said quietly,with a hand on his shoulder.He looked at her then looked down,"My baby girl.."he whispered.
I felt a stab of pain straight into my heart.
"Uncle Jeff you were a terrific father to me,my dad would be so proud..he is proud. I got to see a little bit of him in you,and you raised a smart young woman."I comfort him,seeing as this would probably be the last time that I saw him and Aunt Janice. He hugged me tightly,and my childhood flashed through my mind,reminding me of all the good times,life lessons and mistakes. Then finally I hugged my aunt,and thanked her for being my mother when my mother was gone.
I went back inside of the house to pack a duffle bag,which I knew I really wouldn't need much seeing as I was going blindly into a world full of vampires and werewolves,but I made sure to pack a picture of them. All my friends that I was leaving behind probably would never see me again,and I tried hard not to react to that feeling. It was graduation all over again,except this time I wasn't going to college. Strange how suddenly brave I became,accepting the fate that awaited me so easily,but seeing my parents way back then,fighting for my life while I lived in the shadows gave me the strength I needed to join them in the fight,for all of our lives.

Hey everyone hope your enjoying the story ! This was more of a transitioning chapter into the crazy world she's about to become apart of once again. Some new characters will be introduced in the coming up chapter,and Lena finally gets to discover everything about her 'powers'
