This scene of the book will be written in the 3rd person...

They were traveling 453 years back into time hence the reason they encountered difficulties. Elijah knew this and he was well prepared for what was coming. He warned Paisley and taught her what she needed to know.

Normally when traveling back into time people jump through a loophole that gets created when the spell is being cast. The loophole opens in the other dimension and closes as soon as the person is through that casted the spell. That's why it can be difficult to try and follow someone through a loophole.

But when traveling back so many years people encounter more than one loophole opening and it takes much longer to open, but Elijah knew exactly what too look for when the loopholes open.

They managed to get through the right loophole and landed safely on Scottish soil. 1563 was a dark time in Scotland and Paisley noticed this when they arrived and the stories she has read before coming does not compare to reality. They landed in an open field showered with a thick layer of fog, so thick they couldn't see their own hand in front of them.

Elijah noticed some village people at the bottom of the field, he knew that they could not see them but they could hear them so he tapped Paisley on the shoulder and signaled for her to keep quite and start moving. They moved through the thick fog side by side so they won't lose one another. Every step they took they could feel the damp water from the long grass enter their shoes which made them feel very uncomfortable.

Paisley asked Elijah if he knew where they were going and he told her he was sure but they can't be caught by any of the village people, so Paisley just followed him and kept quiet. Paisley thought the walk felt like it was never going to stop, but they reached the forest in no time. The forest was dark and surrounded with a thick layer of fog as well and it made it very difficult for them to see where they were going.

Elijah told Paisley that Raven Black stays in the forest but with all the fog he does not know which way to go. As they were walking hand in hand Elijah bumped into something or rather someone that made them come to a stand still. Paisley stumbled back a few steps after hitting Elijah's back and then she noticed the man standing inches away from Elijah's face. She could not see his face clearly all see saw was his silhouette and that scared her. She could hear the man mumbling something to Elijah but she was not sure what he said so she moved closer to Elijah hiding behind him.

The man asked them what they were doing there and Elijah tried to convince the man that they were just passing through the forest but the man did not believe him. He told them that no one is allowed to pass through the forest and demanded them to follow with him but Elijah told him that they can not go with him. The man pulled out what looked like a sword from his waist and that made Elijah back up a little shielding Paisley from the man.

The man threatened to kill them if they did not go with him. The man was caught off guard when Elijah grabbed his other arm and twisted him around causing him to lose his balance and fall letting go of his sword. Elijah stood over the man and clenched his right fist tight and hit the man once. He grabbed Paisley hand and told her to start running.

They ran like they have never ran before, with every step they took they ran faster. The faster they were going the harder it got to breath but they carried on running. They came to a stand still again but this time it was no human standing in their way it was an invisible barrier. That was when Elijah knew they reached Raven Black.

Paisley asked Elijah how they would get through while he was pacing up and down next to the barrier. He turn to her and told her he remembers reading something in one of the journals and he quoted...

"To get through the barrier a symbol of trust is needed, to show the witch that you can be trusted and that you trust her. Take the thing that is most valuable too you and throw it through the barrier, it will only pass through the barrier if it is truly a symbol of trust..."

Paisley looked at him with a questionable look. What valuable item would pass through the barrier she asked him. He scratched the back of his neck, like he normally did when he was thinking and then he looked at her and pointed toward her backpack and told her the book.

Off course it would be the book, that was the reason why they were there in the first place anyway. Paisley took the book out of her backpack and handed it over to him, he took a few steps back away from the barrier and took one last look at the book and whispered "I hope this works" then he threw the book towards the barrier.
