The moment Elijah threw the book towards the barrier it seemed like time stopped as Paisley looked back and forth between the book and the barrier, and as soon as the book hit the barrier it sliced through like a knife. When the book hit the ground Paisley felt her heart sink into her stomach. The thought of the book on the one side of the barrier and Elijah and her on the other side made her feel very uncomfortable, what if she doesn't get the book back? What will happen then?
Out the shadows of the old wooden house appeared a woman, she was wearing a beautiful black dress that just hovered over the ground beneath her feet, her long jet black hair fell effortlessly over her shoulder outlining her face beautifully. She walked towards where the book laid, and with that Elijah and Paisley walked up to the barrier.
She picked up the book and stared at it for a good 10 seconds before making eye contact with them. She walk over to the barrier and stood right in front of the two of them scanning them from top to bottom."Are you Paisley?" was the first words the woman spoke.
Paisley was in so much shock she could not bring herself to speak she just nodded in agreement. The woman then smiled at her and opened an archway in the barrier, gesturing them to come in and so they did.
When they got inside the little old wooden house the air smelled of burned out candles and fresh lavender. The woman gestured for them to sit down across from her, Elijah takes a seat and pulled Paisley's arm to sit next to him. They stare at the woman while she admires the book that sliced through her barrier.
The three of them start to discuss why they were there, and Paisley tells her that the booked belonged to her grandparents, but the witch knew this already that's how she knew it was Paisley. The woman told them the story of when Paisley's grandparents came to her for help and how she helped them.
Elijah told the woman that they needed her help to protect the book as it was now in their hands.
After about an hour or so of just talking, Paisley could just picture how her grandparents sat there laughing and making small talk with this lovely woman before everything changed. She had so many thoughts running through her mind that she felt so overwhelmed, she could not understand how people could hate such a lovely woman. What does it matter what and who you were, she realized that witches had a rough life in Scotland in the 1500's and that broke her heart.
The witch offered to help them because she knew exactly what they needed, she had no need to ask as she knew that an invisibility spell would be the spell to cast as it would work more effectively than her previous spell.

The spell was done and they were on their way to head back. As they walk towards the barrier Paisley turn around and gave the woman a hug and whispered "thank you and be careful" in her ear, the woman smiled and hugged her back. When they reached the barrier she opened an archway again and they stepped through it.
Elijah took Paisley's hand and told her it was time to go back. The way back was easier because most of the fog lifted, but yet for them it was more dangerous. They could not risk being caught otherwise they could not get back to their world.
When they got to the open field Elijah saw the village men across the field on the other side. He hesitated but then turned to Paisley and told her that they need to run one last time to make it to they loophole before the village men caught up to them. She knew what he meant and she agreed, she took his hand and held it tight and then signaled to him that she was ready.
He smiled down at her and started running. As they pulled off the village men noticed them and started to head straight for them. Paisley held his hand tighter as she saw them and kicked her speed up a notch. The men closed in on them and the loophole was right in front of them, Paisley closed her eyes held her breath and hope for the best.

The woman's face was all Paisley saw, the witch the beautiful jet black hair and a smile that could kill. Elijah shook her awake and when she realized where she was she sighed with relief. She found herself in Elijah's arms in the middle of the store room at the back of the shop. She was back in her own world with the man that was willing to die for her.
They were safe, the book was safe.
