We take life for granted every single day, we take the people for granted that love and care about us. But I guess that's how we go through life taking everything for granted.
I woke up this morning feeling like a total train wreck, my head was pounding my ankle was killing me but yet I still needed to go to the antique shop. It was busy today for some odd reason which made me feel a bit better. I am sitting at the counter just keeping an eye on all the customers walking through the shop, I got distracted when my phone went off.
"Hello?" I answer my phone.
"Hello Paisley." And I could clearly hear Elijah's voice.
"Yes Elijah, how are you?" I ask him.
"Pretty good thank you and yourself?" he asked.
"I felt pretty shitty this morning but the shops busy today, keeps me busy so I feel better now." I told him.
"Well that's good, but you know you aren't suppose to be at work yet." he told me
"Yes yes I know but the shop can't run itself you know and it's a good thing a came today." I assured him.
"Alright then I will not argue with you, but listen I am popping by after work so I can start teaching you the ropes, okay." he told me.
I agree the quicker we can get started the better for me. "Sure sounds perfect, just make sure you bring something to eat please." I asked him in my sweetest voice ever.
"Yes ma'am will do, see you later then goodbye." and he hangs up. I was smiling from ear to ear knowing I got him to buy us food once again. At this rate I will never have to buy us food.

The rest of the day went by quickly and I felt like I needed coffee, so I phoned the coffee shop across from me and ordered two cappuccino's,before heading out to pick them up.
I closed the shop and walked across the road, it was quite dark outside even though it was only about 19:00 pm. The streets were quiet and it worried me because they were never this quiet, but nevertheless I walked into the coffee shop and the aroma filled me nose and I was in heaven instantly. I paid for the cappuccino's, thanked them and left.
It took me not even 2 minutes to get back to the shop, I was busy unlocking the door when someone pushed me against the glass door, and the cups felt out my hands and hit the floor and I was devastated.
When reality hit me and I see the two guys in front my stomach dropped. "Where is the journal?!" the guys on the left demanded.
"Wh....ooo are you?" I asked them with my voice shaking.
"Don't you worry about who we are, tell us where the journal is!" the other guys told me.
"What journal are you looking for?" I asked them, even though I knew they were talking about the one my grandparent left me.
"Don't play dumb, you know exactly what we are talking about!" he shouts at me.
I ignore his comment and just stare at the ground hoping and praying that Elijah will show up soon. All of a sudden I get pushed into the shop and to the ground, I fall on my elbow and tears started to escape my eyes. They go through the whole shop throwing everything around breaking stuff, and my heart broke in a million of pieces.
"Where is the god damn journal!" he one guy shouts at me. I ignore him once again but that wasn't a good idea, before I knew it he was right in front of me and before I could block my face I felt his hand against my cheek. The impact was so hard I fell back to the floor, I get up and hold my cheek feeling the stinging feeling but I just sit the staring at him.
"Oh so you want to play that game, alright then have it your way the." he told me and hit me again on the same cheek. I started to taste the blood for my lip and I could only guess that it was split open.
"I don't...know what you...are talking about" I told him struggling to get the words out.
I could see the other guy from the corner of my eye going through all the drawers underneath the counter, tossing everything on the ground and getting frustrated.
"Josh go look in the back see if it's there, I will keep an eye on her." the guys demands.
Soon enough the guy named Josh went to the back and I was left alone with the other guy. Everything went quite and that bothered me. "So are you going to tell me where the journal is?" he asked me.
The silences was broken when Josh came back to the front. "There is nothing Brain" he told him and walked towards me.
"Okay I am going to asked you one more time, where is the journal that your grandparent left you?" he asked in a calm voice.
I look around the store and then back at him, I shook my head and then his fist connected with my eye. My head hit the floor and I saw them run out of the shop, everything went black yet again but the last thing I hear was Elijah's voice.
