CHAPTER 13: THE PERSON WHO CALLS ME CHIBI-CHAN

Thirty past three (3:30) in the afternoon, Saturday. And I’m starving. I haven’t eaten lunch yet. You’re probably wondering why, right? Well, at around thirty past twelve (12:30 pm), I did a check on my refrigerator and noticed that I haven’t got anything to eat. I told myself that I will go to the nearby grocery store and buy what I needed but I fell asleep on my bed since I was reading a book and now I don’t have any energy to go there anymore.

I sighed. I was currently watching television when my stomach growled meaning I am so hungry. I stood up, I’ve decided already… I’ll go to the grocery store.

I dressed myself with a teal sleeveless blouse and skinny jeans. I went out of my room and put on my black high-cut converse shoes, grabbed my shoulder bag with my phone and wallet in it, and went out of my apartment.

I started to walk to the grocery store when my phone rang. I looked at the screen to check on whom it is, it’s Nii-san.

[PHONE CONVERSATION]

Tsunade: Domo, Nii-san.

Tetsuya: Domo, Tsunade-chan. I just called to ask what you and Riko did yesterday.

Tsunade: Do you really need to know, Nii-san?

Tetsuya: Of course, I need to know. As an older brother of you, I need to know what my little sister is up to.

Tsunade: *sighs* We just went shopping.

Tetsuya: Alright, and where are you now?

Tsunade: On my way to the grocery store. I haven’t eaten lunch yet.

Tetsuya: What? Why?

Tsunade: Don’t ask me about it, Nii-san. I’m hanging up.

Tetsuya: Be careful. Bye.

Tsunade: I will. Bye.

I hanged up and so did Nii-san. I stopped walking and entered the grocery store. I grabbed a grocery basket and started to choose things that I needed.

After doing some scanning and picking things up, I lined up to pay. Eggs, chicken, rice, tomatoes, carrots, beef, and some more are in my grocery basket.

Cashier: Next please.

I handed my grocery basket to the cashier woman and she started to scan them. After scanning, the cashier woman told me how much it cost. I took out my wallet from my shoulder bag, picked out some cash and handed it to her.

She accepted it and gave me the change and the receipt.

Tsunade: Arigato.

I grabbed the grocery bags and went out of the grocery store. The bags are heavier than I expected, knowing that I bought many and a 5-kilo rice. I sat on the bench to get some rest. I don’t have any energy to carry these bags since I haven’t eaten lunch yet.

I decided to take a rest first at the bench even if I’m starving to death. After a few minutes resting, I decided to walk home since its getting dark. Then suddenly I noticed a shadow behind me. I slowly dropped the grocery bags I was holding and looked over my shoulder to look who it was.

It was a guy, eating sweets, a paper bag full of sweets in hand, and has shoulder length purple hair. He was Atsushi Murasakibara.

He looked at me and I realized that I was staring at him for a long time. He moved closer to me and tapped my head.

Murasakibara: Domo, Chibi-chan.

Tsunade: Can you please not call me that, Murasakibara-kun?

Murasakibara: Why not? You are small anyway?

Alright, now I’m pissed. During middle school, Murasakibara-kun always insults me and Nii-san about our height and it always pisses me out.

Murasakibara: What’s wrong, Chibi-chan? Are you mad at me?

Tsunade: *shakes head* (I am actually.) I have to go.

I started to walk but Murasakibara-kun stopped me by blocking my path. He looks over the grocery bags I am holding.

Murasakibara: You bought a 5-kilo rice?

Tsunade: Is there a problem with that, Murasakibara-kun?

Murasakibara: No. The only problem is, are you carrying those bags up to your house?

Tsunade: Apartment

Murasakibara: Whatever. Let me at least help you.

Help me? When did Murasakibara-kun became a gentleman?

Without me saying a word, Murasakibara-kun grabbed the grocery bags I was holding and handed me the paper bag with sweets.

Murasakibara: If you want me to help you, at least help me yourself.

Tsunade: I didn’t even ask for your help at the first place.

Murasakibara: *laughs* I wouldn’t let Chibi-chan carry these bags or else she’ll shrink again.

Tsunade: *pissed but don’t want Murasakibara to notice* Hahaha… do you want me to get angry at you, Murasakibara-kun?

Murasakibara: *looks closely at Tsunade’s face* You already are, Chibi-chan.

I snatched the grocery bags from Murasakibara-kun and handed him back the paper bag with sweets.

Tsunade: Just so you know, Murasakibara-kun. I haven’t eaten lunch yet, so please stop teasing me.

I started to walk, ignoring the heavy weight of the grocery bags but then, Murasakibara-kun snatched the grocery bags from me and carried it with one hand like there is no weight in it.

Murasakibara: You should’ve told me earlier, Chibi-chan. I don’t want you to starve to death.

I didn’t reply to him. We just walked with awkwardness around us until we reached my apartment. He offered that he will be the one to cook since he told me he owed me.

After Murasakibara-kun cooked, he left immediately. I have eaten what Murasakibara-kun had cooked and it really is impressive, I though he only knew how to do cook pastries but turns out I’m wrong.

At least I have eaten.
