CHAPTER 6: THE ABSOLUTE EMPEROR

The practice game with Shutoku was really intense yesterday. It was already dismissal so the team was practicing at the nearby court. Riko asked me to go at the nearest sport shop to buy some basketballs.

I was on my way to the sport shop when my attention was caught with a shop that is full of board games. I looked at my phone to check the time, 2:50pm. Riko said I don’t need to hurry because there’s enough at the court but we need extra ones.

There’s more time, I told myself. I walked in and scanned my eyes on the board games until I reached the end. I stopped when I saw a shogi board. Staring at that board reminds me of someone and that someone is … Seijuro Akashi.

Flashback…

I was at the activities room, arranging stuff that has to be ordered. First years are really careless. They leave their mess for us, second years to clean up. When I saw a single first year right now, I swear I’ll tear them apart.

I was alone cleaning, you see and no one is here to help me out. I was currently cleaning and arranging the supplies when I slipped on the ladder that I was stepping.

I fell on my butt. “Ow…” I complained.

But seems like I wasn’t the only one who fell, the supplies I arranged and cleaned fell with me.

“Come on!”

“You’re here all along, Tsunade-chan.”

I looked back and saw a guy with red hair and he was a few inches taller than me.

“Who are you and how did you know me?” I asked.

He walked closely to me and offered his hand to help me up. I took it and brushed dust from my uniform.

“I’m Seijuro Akashi.” he introduced.

“How come you seem to know me?” I asked. Who is this guy anyway? He suddenly appeared from nowhere and now he knew my name. I’m not famous.

“I know you because you’re Kuroko’s twin sister.”

Who is he? I kept on asking myself. I know he is Seijuro Akashi but how come he knew me with one glance only.

He smiled at me. “I know you still doubt me but seems like you need help with the mess the first years left.”

“Certainly.”

I just agreed with him because I don’t know anything to say. He smiled at me again.

I blushed instantly. I don’t know why but honestly, it’s the best smile I ever saw.

He helped me with the mess and when I stepped on the ladder to reach the highest shelf I fell again.

I prepared myself for I know that I’ll hit the floor again… but I was wrong.

Akashi-senpai caught me and he was carrying me bridal-style.

“Tsunade-chan, you should be more careful.” He advised.

“I-I will…” I blushed.

He let me stand up and I can tell that from that moment I have fallen…

End of flashback…

Back to present…

As far as I know, it was the first time I met someone who is that calm and willing to help me when I was in trouble. I was still staring at the shogi board when…

?: Domo, Tsunade-chan.

I know that voice, that calm voice. I immediately looked back. It’s…

Tsunade: Akashi-senpai!!

He looked at me and smiled. Please don’t smile at me like that. I will fall again if you did that. But then I noticed something different about Akashi-senpai, his left eye was yellow and his right eye was red. As far as I can remember, his eyes were both red when we last met. What is the yellow eye supposed to mean?

‘Emperor’s eye’ a voice whispered in my head. Emperor’s eye? What’s that? Akashi-senpai came close to me and hugged me.

Akashi: I missed you, Tsunade-chan.

Tsunade: *widens eyes and blushes* O///////////O

Akashi: *lets go off Tsunade* Tsunade-chan… *notices Tsunade’s blush and ignores* (She’s cute when she blushes) It’s been a long time. There’s a nearby café here. I want to talk to you.

Tsunade: Gomen, Akashi-senpai but I can’t go.

Akashi: Why?

?: Because she needs to go to the sport shop.

Akashi-senpai and I looked back and saw Kagami-kun. He looked pissed and his hands were inside his pockets. I looked back at Akashi-senpai, he looked pissed too, the same reaction I saw with Kagami-kun. Probably he was pissed because Kagami-kun interrupted us but other than that, I don’t know.

Tsunade: That’s right. I have to go to the sport shop.

Akashi: *sighs* Alright. Nice to meet you again, Tsunade-chan.

I smiled at him as Kagami-kun and I went outside the shop and started walking. I sighed and looked again on my phone, 3:10pm. I widened my eyes, I was at the shop for 20 minutes.

Tsunade: I’m sorry, Kagami-kun.

Kagami: Sorry for what?

Tsunade: For not going to the sport shop.

Kagami: It’s alright.

Tsunade: It is?

Kagami: *nods* Yeah. The team was really worried on you especially Kuroko. So coach ordered me to follow you.

I looked down. I really made the team worry on me. I wish I never went to that shop.

Kagami: Don’t look so down, Tsunade-chan. The team was just worried on you but you’re fine so cheer up.

I smiled at him and continued to walk to the court.

**~**

When we arrived at the court, I apologized to the whole team about not returning back earlier. They told me it was fine and it was not my fault we if I got distracted by the shop. In the end, we all decided to go home.

Me and Nii-san walked together.

Tetsuya: What happened, Tsunade-chan?

Tsunade: What do you mean, Nii-san?

Tetsuya: At the shop. You’re not the kind of person that forgets responsibility.

Tsunade: *sighs* I met Akashi-senpai.

Tetsuya: Akashi?

Tsunade: *nods*

Tetsuya: Don’t tell me you fall again.

Tsunade: Of course not, Nii-san.

Tetsuya: Good.

We walked in silence until we separated ways. Nii-san was already with okasan and otosan. I wonder when will I decide to do the same.
