Chapter 28

CHAPTER 28: THE WINTER STARTS

I rubbed my hands together, desperate not to let them freeze. The winter started already and soon the winter cup is about to begin as well.  

The team made it through the preliminaries. It was tough for them but at least we made it through. Our first game on the preliminaries is against Josei. We won smoothly but before the game even started, Riko already got pissed. Why you ask?

One of the players of Josei pointed at her and yelled, “She’s not sexy at all!” That made Riko really angry and fire was surrounding her but eventually calmed down. Kagami-kun also kept jumping too high that made him head-butt the hoop.

It’s also the first time I see Kiyoshi-senpai’s skill. I was really amazed by it.

Our second game on the preliminaries is against Shutoku. It was a tie game. Since it was preliminaries for the winter cup, we didn’t get overtime. But at least, Shutoku and Seirin are in the winter cup.

Our last game on the preliminaries is against Kirisaki Dai Chi. Sayoko-chan’s father owned the school. After Sayoko-chan graduated from middle school, her father told her that she should go to Kirisaki Dai Chi but Sayoko-chan didn’t go there. At first, I didn’t know why she did that but now I do.

Kirisaki Dai Chi is the only team in my entire life of loving basketball that acts that way. Almost hitting Nii-san! Who do you think you are?! That’s my twin you’re trying to hit there!! I should’ve killed those guys after the game. Did you see the amount of damage they put in our team?! Kiyoshi-senpai almost got another injury if Riko didn’t put him on the bench.

Oh, and if you’re wondering how I found out about Kiyoshi-senpai’s injury, Riko told me about it. I can only see the future, not the past. But the good thing about the game is that we won. Do you know what that means?

WE’RE IN THE WINTER CUP!!!!

The team really rejoiced. Who wouldn’t? We just made to the winter cup!

But back to reality, I’m on my way to school. Yes, I’m on my way to school. Thank Kami! My companions are giving me a day-off today. So that means neither of them can guard me today.

As I walk to school, I got a text from Sayoko-chan. It says, “Wanna hang out? My treat.” I hesitated for a moment but texted back saying that I want to.

After a few more minutes, I arrived at school. I went straight to class. I saw Nii-san sleeping. I sighed and sat on my seat. Okasan said that Nii-san didn’t get much sleep last night. She didn’t tell me why but her explanation of Nii-san not getting much sleep is enough for me to understand why he is sleeping right now.

Kagami-kun isn’t here yet. Where could he be? Usually, at this time he’s already here at school. Don’t tell me he’s in front of my house, waiting for me?!

No, it’s his idea to give me a day-off anyway. He might be coming to school already so I just have to wait.
