Baekhyun POV
I didn't see Jieun anywhere in any of my classes. My parents told me to drive her to the new house, but I had brushed it off. She could walk there or catch a bus there anyway. After class, I took Sora to our local cafe. I wasn't sure if I was able to tell her that I was arranged to marry someone else. But for some reason, I couldn't imagine her reacting too negatively about it.
*flashback*
"Oppa, as long as we're together, it doesn't matter anymore, 'nothing will do us apart'."
It was nice to have her by my side. She had never made anything awkward or embarrassing for me. She always gave me good vibes.
*end*
"Oppa... oppa?" Sora's voice suddenly awoke me from my thoughts.
"Huh? What?" I realised I was looking at her the whole time.
"You looked dazed.... anything wrong?"
"Just admiring how beautiful you are." I reassuringly smiled to her.
Our cake and cups of coffee were delivered by a waitress.
"Thanks." I said.
She smiled back and looked at me for a while before quietly walking off.
I looked at Sora. She was innocently looking elsewhere. I could tell she already noticed. I began sip my coffee.
"Hey, just because you're so good looking, it doesn't mean you go well with other girls." she pouted, digging into her cake.
I scoffed. Sora was jealous. I smiled to myself.
......
After we spent some time in our local mall, I drove Sora back to her house, I went to the new house. It was already getting dark and I wasn't looking forward to see Jieun. I arrived at the front of the house and stared at it. I could see the lights were on through the window. I slowly made my way to the door and went in. It was almost silent went I came in. I went upstairs and noticed Jieun had already settled into a room. The door was slightly ajar. I opened the door and peeked in. Jieun had her head in her arms on the the window sill. She had her earphones in and was sleeping. I frowned, and went back out. This house was definitely much smaller than our one, and it smelt of paint and new furnishings. I scrunched my nose as walked around.
I closed my eyes. 6 months... just 6 months, I reminded myself. Then I laid on the couch and slept.
-next morning-
I suddenly felt the urgent need to go to the toilet and woke up. I gasped as I felt my back screech in pain. I was stupid enough to sleep on the couch last night. I went into the bathroom and locked the door. I looked at myself. It was time I had to shave again. As I began to apply shaving cream on my face, I realised that I didn't bring my things. I was with Sora the whole afternoon, yesterday, and I forgot to pack my things. The only things here was a toothbrush, toothpaste, a cup and a small sample size of shaving cream, which my mum had prepared. I looked at myself. I had used the whole sample pack. If I washed it off, there was going to be no more. I sighed in frustration.
I heard the door knock. Jieun was already up? I began thinking of what I should do. I finally decided to just go out without washing it.
Jieun POV
I woke up finding myself leaning on the window sill. My neck was in pain. I shuffled out of the room and to the bathroom. It was locked. I knocked once, twice, three times. It opened, much more quicker than I had expected. But instead of expecting someone who should look well groomed, after spending time in the bathroom, Baekhyun came opened the door with shaving cream all over his face.
"Oh... um... you can finish what you were doing... " I stuttered.
Baekhyun looked as shocked.
"I...ah....um... do you have a uh...razor?" he suddenly asked.
"Razor?" I asked. He timidly nodded.
"Uh... there's a convenience store nearby... do you want me to buy one for you?" I quickly asked.
Baekhyun POV
I felt my cheeks go red when she offered to buy me a razor. Even though she was like a stranger, because of the fact that I didn't know anything about her, I still wanted to act like a cool and independent guy. I mentally sighed. Apparently not. Anyways, I nodded quickly, because what else could I do, in this inconvenient situation?
Jieun immediately took off, only changing her shoes. I followed her downstairs.
"Hey..... you can take your time.." I said.
"Huh?... Oh... I think that's more important." she said, pointing to my face.
I cleared my throat in slight annoyance, and walked back upstairs. I heard the door shut.
Jieun POV
As soon as I closed the front door shut, I ran to the small shop that I had seen when I arrived at the new house yesterday. It was only a matter of time when I stopped at a small building with a roof made of rusted tin, the bricks worn away from the dust. The front had dried seafood and an odd selection of rubber gloves on display. I walked into the smell of old people and rice cakes. I looked through the isles where I finally found a razor. As I made my way back to the cashier, I quickly grabbed a bottle of shaving cream and a hand towel.
Then I ran back.
Baekhyun POV
Within, what felt like minutes, she had already come back. I went downstairs as quick as possible. Suddenly out of nowhere Jieun was in front of me. I couldn't stop myself in time, and felt us falling.
Jieun POV
I closed the front door behind me and ran upstairs. I was looking down when I suddenly collided into someone. Baekhyun. Lucky for us, we didn't fall downstairs.
"Ow.." I gasped, holding my head.
I looked up and realised how close our heads were. He was rubbing his abdomen, when he looked up too.
"I'm so sorry... here.. I bought the things..." I said, looking away, picking up the things and giving it to him before running upstairs to my room, as quick as possible.
I laid on my bed with my hands over my face.
My heart was beating like crazy... but it was probably from running upstairs...
