Baekhyun POV
I quickly grabbed Jieun’s hand as she got off my bed. She landed back down with a thump.
“Stay.” I whispered in the quiet darkness.
My ribs were still in pain but holding her hand made me feel better. The warmth felt familiar. I thought of happy things until I fell asleep.
Jieun POV
I watched as Baekhyun fell asleep. When his tight grip gradually loosened, I tucked him into his covers and closed the window.

I woke up with my legs in my arms. I sat up as a cold breeze greeted me. I shivered and got out of bed. Baekhyun was still sleeping. I decided to make breakfast.
Baekhyun POV
I could smell food from downstairs. It must be Jieun cooking. I opened my eyes and looked around. I had a stiff neck from sleeping in the same position all night. My ribs were feeling better. I got up and went downstairs.
“Oh, you’re awake.” Jieun said.
“Why are you up so early?” I asked as ‘not’ awkwardly as possible. I was still thinking what the hell was I thinking last night.
She looked at me quizzically.
“It’s almost 11.”
I shot a quick glance at the clock.
“Oh..okay..”
She smiled. “I cooked rice omelettes.”
“Smells good.”
Jieun POV
“So…what do you want to do today?” Baekhyun casually said, breaking the silence.
The holidays had started already, yet it seemed like too much had already happened.
“Uh….I don’t know…is there something you want to do?” I asked back, just as casually.
“Mmm…there’s an amusement park nearby… and …” he was thinking hard.
“Then let’s go there.”
“Okay then…this time I’m going to drive.”
Baekhyun POV
We got our entrance tickets and went into the park.
“I want to go on that ride!” Jieun pointed to the rollercoaster that went vertically up and straight back down.
I gulped.
“Sure.”
She dragged me to the waiting line.
Jieun POV
It was after a few more rides, when I realised how tired I was.
“Should we take a rest?” I asked, as we got off.
“Yea…oh...I think my neck might break off.” he replied, stretching his neck.
“Let’s sit near the fountain over there, since it’s dry.” I took Baekhyun’s hand and led him to the stone statue.
“Are you hungry?” I asked.
He nodded.
“Then wait here and I’ll buy something.
Baekhyun POV
It didn’t take long for Jieun to return with two hot dogs in her hand. She offered me one and brought out drinks from her bag. I gratefully took it.

After eating, I realised that I brought my camera with me.
“Hey Jieun, let’s take a photo here.”
“Here?” she replied, her mouth still full of food.
I quickly wrapped my arm around her shoulders and held the camera in front of us. And then posed. Snap snap. Suddenly a shower of water came down.
“What the-” I jumped off my seat and ran off, with Jieun following behind.
The fountain had started again and water had spread a distance of around 7 feet. It was freezing as a cold breeze blew over us.
“Jesus Christ…” I heard Jieun.
***
Our clothes were still wet, as I parked into the driveway. Jieun got out the car, clearly looking bothered.
“You alright?” I asked as I opened the door.
“Yea, you?”
“Just cold.” I shivered.
Jieun POV
How stupid was I to sit at the edge of a fountain? I thought to myself. Well, it was dry at the time, but it was still idiotic of me. Baekhyun went into his room and I went into mine. I sighed. Although we had our day cut short, we still had a fun time. At least for me. Suddenly I heard coughing from Baekhyun’s room. Did he catch a cold? I decided to check.
I turned the doorknob and saw Baekhyun sitting on his bed, with his back arched, coughing.
“Baekhyun? Are you okay?” I asked.
He kept coughing. I approached him and patted him on the back. Then he stopped and sighed heavily.
"Not feeling quite well. I wanna sleep.." he lied on top of his covers on the bed.
I tried to pull the quilt out to cover him, but it wouldn't budge. You could call it sympathy or whatever, but I went to my room and got my covers for Baekhyun instead.
Baekhyun POV
I felt a quilt go over me. I mentally smiled. Jieun would always tuck me in, yet my parents had never done that before. Suddenly, I had an abrupt urge and wrapped my hands around Jieun's waist. She fell next to me and I hugged her, despite my awkward position lying on the bed. If this meant I liked her, I would be glad. But my feelings were still jumbled up because of the breakup with Sora.
Yet now that I think about it, Sora always kept a certain distance from me. Not physically though - she'd always hug me in front of all my friends. It was because she didn't honestly tell me a lot of things, including her feelings to me.
But Jieun. This girl was different though. She had her tempers and all, but she had a different...I suppose aura? Recently, she was more caring, even though it was because I was injured trying to 'save' her. It felt oddly familiar, as though we were really close before. Then Eun popped into my head. She was my only childhood friend. And then she left for Japan. I wonder what she's doing now. Is she still in Japan? Or did she come back?
