Jieun's mom POV
"A close friend?" Jieun asked me. "Oh...you mean Misaki?"
I didn't know what to say. Jieun didn't only just forget about Baekhyun, she had forgotten that she even had such a close friend. I could only nod when she had said the name of her friend from Japan. I just couldn't say that her childhood friend was living under the same roof as her. She would be shocked and would only be more upset. I decided to tell her story in a different person's point of view.
"Jieun-ah, can I tell you a story?"
"Okay. It's been a long time since you've told me a story anyway."
"There was this little girl and little boy and they were best friends." I started. I hoped she would remember something, anything about her past.
She frowned at me.
"Mom, do I really look like a five year old?"
"Just listen. Anyways, they always relied on each other, told each other their problems, secrets, things like that. But one day, the girl had move to a different country because of some family matter. They knew they wouldn't be able to see each other, until she came back."
"I don't really get what you're trying to say. Does this have anything to do with the photos?"
I started feeling uneasy. "Maybe..."
"Okay, so what happened after? Did she come back?"
"The girl came back eight years later, only to completely forget about this childhood friend of hers."
"Wow, mom, your improvising skills are really great." she said sarcastically.
"If you were the girl," I ignored her and continued. "What would you do?"
"If I was the girl?.....I would try to remember this so-called friend of mine."
"Really?" I was surprised.
She nodded.
"I would be determined to meet this person....Well...I mean...if he can't remember I suppose there would be no point...."
I was relieved that she was still a positive person, even though she had previously suffered from depression. I smiled at her.
"Does this even have anything to do with the photos I was talking about?"
"What do you mean?"
"I'll just ask you straightforwardly: Are the polaroids, pictures of you and your childhood...sweetheart?"
"Uh...no, they're...pictures of a particular person and their friend."
"Who? And why did you give them to me anyway?"
I didn't think of that. Why did I give them to her, only to make up some story about an anonymous person?
"I just....want you to find out....who these people are."
She quizzically looked at me.
"I gave you the box, and told you to open it when you felt distraught, so you could get your mind out of things...and-"
"Oh....I get it. So it's some sort of game that you made up and I have to work out who they are with the clues given.....okay....I got it."
She stood up and looked at her watch.
"I need to go now. I will tell you when I've worked it out."
"Oh...okay...remember to lock the door on your way out."
"Sure."
And then, just like that, she left. I was still in a daze after a while. The way she thinks things......is quite peculiar..
Jieun POV
I walked home carrying a bag if takeaway and drinks for Baekhyun, in deep thought. Should I take the flower clip to some medical place and check the DNA.....no no...that would just ruin it...

"Did you buy the food?" was the first thing Baekhyun said, the moment I entered the living room.
"Jajangmyeon and lemon tea, right?" I said in reply, holding the bag up.
"Yes!"
When I took the food and drinks out of the bag, the whole room started to smell of the noodles and my stomach began to rumble.
"You're hungry too, eh?" he said, already digging into his box.
"Hmm.." I said as I opened my box.
Baekhyun POV
I was happy after I finished. I was impressed that Jieun had bought the lemon tea from my favourite place.
"I want to sleep." I said.
"Oh, okay." she said with her mouth full of food.

I slept for the rest of the afternoon. By the time I woke up, it was already dark. I checked my phone. 7:00pm. I painfully got up and looked into Jieun's room. No one. I quietly went downstairs to the living room. I saw her on the armchair leaning on the coffee table. Then, I decided to scare her.
As I went up to her, I noticed she was holding polaroids. Pictures of....two people...wait...I rubbed my eyes and checked my pocket. My wallet was still here with me. Then where did she get those photos of me and Eun?
