Ch. 49

ISAACS POV//

        This woman seriously won't give us a break. I mean I don't mind the parties but tomorrow we're going whale watching. Yay...

So after breakfast Daniel and I are going to the the gift shop downstairs so I can get Paulina something from Rio. She's a girl so she might like something "authentic" but nothing cheesy like a snow globe or keychain.

"Oh my god" Angie flaunts. "What bitch?" Crystal asks. "We're going into eighth grade soon" she says and stares off into space. "What the fuck, how is that important?" Paulina asks with a biscuit in her hand. "Because Paulina that means after next year we're leaving each other." Angie calmly explains to her causing her to shut her mouth.
"She has a point Pauls" Daniel says. "Ok but no one asked you." She rudely bites back. "That means shut up Daniel" Angie says. "WELL, I'm gonna tan today." Kassidy says with a proud smile. "Kassidy you're pale you're just gonna get red." Angie says and rolls her eyes.

After breakfast I drag Daniel and Tommy to the downstairs gift shop. It's nicer than I expected and not everything is covered in different names and flowers,. Do I really need to get her something? Whatever she's my girlfriend I have to.

       "Aye Isaac come look at this" Tommy shouts and I follow the sound of his voice to the corner of the store that he's in. "Give this to Paulina" he says and holds up a necklace with a small island with a palm tree and turtle on it. The size is just perfect for her small chest and not too chunky to look flamboyant. On the back engraved on the wood says, "A love as deep as the ocean and as wistful as a palm tree is a love worth treasuring."  The necklace is $11.78 in American dollars but I buy it because Paulinas worth it and since it's not shitty. I ask the cashier to put it in a gift box so I can give it to her at the beach today.
        I go back to the hotel and run upstairs for sunscreen. On the way back down I run into Angie and Cryatal. "Angie!" I yell and catch up to them. "Look what I got Paulina" I say and pull out the necklace from the gift box. "This is nice Isaac. She's gonna love it." Angie lies. "You're lying" I say. "Yeah I'm lying." She says and nods her head. "Gimme your sunscreen" she says and I hand her my bottle of sunscreen. She squirts some out of the bottle and rubs it on her face. We take the elevator down to the lobby and walk to the beach. Paulina and Kassidy are already talking with their bikini tops untied which makes me furious because anyone can walk by, tickle her and cause her to get up without thinking. While Paulina is actually turning a nice shade of sun kissed Kassidy is just turning a brilliant shade of cherry red.
         I sit down next to Paulina on the sand and start rubbing sunscreen on her back before tying her bikini top. "Kassidy" Angie says without looking at Kassidy. "Yea?" She answers. "You do know you aren't tanning right?" Angie says. "Well it was worth a shot."  Kassidy says and sits up. "I knew you'd burn because face it you have skin like Daniels so here put this on." Angie says and hands Kassidy a bottle of Brazilian Aloe Vera. Daniel comes and kisses Angie before sitting down next to her. "Did you talk to Paulina about the kiss." Daniel attempts to whisper and looks over at Paulina and I. "No Daniel just forget about it, it didn't mean anything." Angie says which makes me happy but I look down at Paulina and it looks like her face fell a thousand feet when she heard Angie's voice make out those words. "You ok?" I ask Paulina.  "Huh? Yeah I'm fine just finish rubbing in this sunscreen on my shoulders please" she says and looks back down at the sand. I rub the lotion in on her back and then slide in front of her to give her the necklace. "Babe?" I say and look into her eyes. "Yes Isaac?" She says with concern. "We're in Rio and were probably not gonna be able to do this until we're older but I wanted you to have something from me and Rio." I spit out and I can finally breathe because I was so nervous about this. I hold up the gem in the braided string and them put it around her neck and set it perfectly away from her hair. "Isaac baby this is beautiful. I have the islands of Brazil on my chest now." She says and smiles with pride.
          "You see that Daniel. I told you not to sit your ass in the sun because this is what'll happen. You're all red you idiot." Angie scolds as she runs aloe all over Daniel. "Every summer you try and tan and all you do is turn into a piece of licorice" she says and finishes rubbing the gel on his face.
