26: The Time

How will I hold on, if the rope is already cut?

"Everything is gone." Demi said, who break down, falling from her knees as she grip me in a tight hug.

"I really don't understand, Demi. Please, calm down..." I said as my tears are threatening to spill.

She continue to cry and cry until I saw Harry making his way on the room as he help me to stand Demi and put her on the bed. She's still breaking down as we try to calm her, I can't understand what's happening right now. All I know is Niall went out with a devastated face while it's covered with tears and when I went in, I just saw her on the floor, crying out her everything. This is the time when I see her like this again, breaking down, broken face and shattered feelings.

"Demi, please calm down for a sec. We don't really know what happened, we can help you. Just say it." Harry said, trying to calm her, caressing her back.

"Nobody and nothing can help us or on what happened..." She said as she choke on her words.

"Harry..." I said, looking at his eyes, giving us a signal to leave the both of us, so he and the rest of the boys will go after Niall. He nod as he kissed me on my cheek and the poor, crying Demi on her head. As the door closes, her tears didn't stop for a while, it is continupus and I'm really worried and shitless.

"Can you please tell me what really happened?" I asked once more and she tries to calm herself, breathing deeply.

"Me and Niall broke up." She said without stutterings or any hesitation, but I'm pretty sure, I heard her right.

"Wait... Hold on, why?" I asked while giving her a hug, closing my eyes as the tears spilled on my eyes.

It's very devastating to hear it but I know it is more devastating for her.

"I don't want him to have a life with me. He doesn't deserve to have a miserable life..." She said, sobbing softly.

I understand her, I know there's something happening to her and she doesn't want us to know about it. It's her relapse. I witness it from time to time before but when Niall enetered his life, it's non existent anymore. That's why there's this day that I felt that something is coming and I was right about it. I can't blame her for that decision because she is just thinking of Niall's life and future, which should be a better one. Now, I'm curious about Niall.

"How did he take it?" I asked. I know it's really hard to ask and ask, but she need to say it, so she could make her feelinhs better even a bit, to lessen the burden.

"Of course, he doesn't want it at all. He tried to fight for us, but for me, giving up is the very best solution here." She said and I don't want to question about her decision anymore. All I want to do is to feel better and feel more comfort from her best friend or sister.

"Will you scold me for what I did?" She asked softly.

"No. That's your decision and I truly and fully understand why. I just hope Niall will understand it too. Maybe at this time,  he will be filled with confusions and worries, but sooner or later, he will get it why it has to be done like that." I said, giving her a warm and comforting smile and hug.

"I'm sorry for keeping my real condition to you. I was just scared on how will you react but I should've said it to you, because it's your right." She said, holding my hand, gripping it firmly.

"No. Don't be. For now, you should rest and don't worry your mom is already on the way. That's why when you wake up, I'm still here and you got to see your mom." I said and giving her the best comfort smile I could give.
