Worst Night Mare : Coffee with Friendly Stranger

It had been almost two weeks and I hadn’t managed to talk to Chris I was now a few days off being six months pregnant, meaning I was getting bigger I really needed to go shopping to buy bigger clothes at the moment I was wearing Dan’s t-shirts. It was that time again, rehearsals we had finished the dancing practice so I was now sat watching them run through some of the scenes acting. I jumped as someone took the seat next to me; I was sat right at the back in the dark watching form a distance made me feel better somehow.

I looked to see it was a guy who had sat next to me; he looked older maybe Jack’s age. He smiled at me before turning back to the front I turned to, to see both Ellie and Dan were now on stage. “Who’s that?” asked the guy I looked to where his finger was pointing at, to see he was pointing at Dan. “Dan” I said he nodded “Should I be worried?” I was confused by this what would he be worried about, I voided this and he turned to look at me “Ellie’s my girlfriend” I was confused and surprised by “Oh then hopefully not because Dan’s my boyfriend” he smiled and nodded at this sinking back further into the chair seeming more comfortable than before.

“I am Tom by the way” he said grinning at me sideways “Izzy” I said back with a smile. “Do you want to go for a coffee?” he asked, I frowned “What? Why?” he laughed at my confusion “Because I think watching are boyfriend and girlfriend kissing is quite how you want to spend your Friday afternoon” I laughed because it was true “If you put it that way, then yeah sure a cup of coffee sounds great.” He smiled and stood up, I lifted myself up to. And his eyes went a little wide and I realised he did see I was pregnant before. “Is that Dan’s” he said as we walked out the door at the back of the school theatre, I nodded. He smiled “Congrates I guess” I beamed back “thanks” he lead me out into the car park.

“So I guess you and Dan have to been together a while” I ran a hand over my belly nodding, he brought keys out of his pocket clicking a switch making a car flash. He put a hand on my back to lead me towards it “So how about you and Ellie?” A dreamy smile came across his face “I have known her since we were like three” he paused to back out of the car parking space, “And around a year ago I realised I loved her I had to go off to college but we stayed together and it is my reading week this week so I have it off” he drove down towards the shopping centre. I nodded smiling it sounded like a book or film you know the ones were the main character falls in love with their best friend.

He pulled into the shopping centre car park, he got out as I took my seatbelt off. He walked round the front of the car and opened my door and helped me out. He was a gentlemen and I knew that it didn't mean anything he was just being polite. He lead me the centre, people were giving us looks fathers and older men frowning or shaking then head disapproving, mums and older women with smiles and twinkles in their eyes and I realised they thought Tom was the father of my now obvious baby bump from a far.

Tom seemed to notice to but he seemed unaffected by it. He lead me to the coffee shop I work at which was weird I had never been on the other side of the bar before actually ordering a drink. Tom told me to sit as he got us a cup of coffee each. He came back passing me a mug, I sipped at the tea because I don't like coffee. "So when you due?" I smiled "About three months" he nodded "Boy or Girl?" I shrugged, I had an idea it was a boy, he was annoying kicking me almost no stop like a guy is bugging. He smiled "Surprise huh?" I laughed nodding, he joined my laughter.

We must have talked for an hour and a half because my phone started vibrating on the table between us. I picked it up bringing it in front of me "It's Dan" I said not able to keep the smile off my face "Cool does that mean their finished" I shrugged, pressing the call button answering the call "Hey Dan" their was a breath or sigh of relief from the other end of the phone. "Oh thank god your ok" I almost laughed at how worried he got. Ok I had left without car keys, and I hadn't told him I was going but he still didn't need to worry.

"I am fine" I said and I could almost see him pacing in front of Chad and Zander running his strong hand through his sexy hair. "Where are you Izzy you scared me?" I turned to face Tom rolling my eyes making him chuckle "I am here with Tom" There was silence from the other end then Dan's confused voice asked "Who is Tom?" I smiled at the hint of jealousy which was laced in his tone as well. "Ellie's boyfriend" and Dan sighed in relief again.

"You umm....do you want me to come pick you....um....up?" he asked as if he was nervous I would think he was forcing me to leave. "Yeah sure we will be in the shopping centre car park see you soon, love you" I said Tom nodded and stood up, checking he had his wallet and phone in his pockets so we could move to the car park to wait. "Oh can you ask him to tell Ellie I will pick her up soon" I nodded at Tom's request. "Dan, can you tell Ellie Tom will pick her up soon", I said as Tom and I head towards the door of the coffee shop.

"Yep i will be there soon baby love you" he said making me smile and my cheeks to go slightly red. "Was he worried?" asked Tom walking with his hands in his pockets "Yeah" he laughed, "I would be to" I frowned "If Ellie went off without telling me" I smiled "I guess it a guy thing" this made me laugh. It felt like I had just made a new friend, and Tom must have felt the same way because he turned to me when we reached the shopping centre "So you want to do this again Monday?" he looked past me almost awkwardly "Yeah sure, it was cool" he looked at me and beamed, "well I better go because Ellie will be waiting I will see you Monday same time same place." I nodded, smiling and waving at him as he crossed to his car.

I stood there for a little while until my yellow beetle came into the car park with smiling Dan behind the wheel and I smiled back, I walked slowly towards him. I got in and was pulled into a kiss, I pulled away laughing “Don’t do that again please you do not know how scared and worried I was” I again laughed, I kissed his temple “I am fine look not even a scratched or a hair out of place” he smiled shaking his head, he brought his hand up to twirl a lock of my hair round his finger but not looking away from my eyes. “Just I can’t lose you” his hand cupped my cheek, and he brought me into another light kiss “I love you too much” I smiled and kissed his nose “I love you to now drive I want food and I am eating for two” he laughed “Yes madam” he started the car and pulled towards the exit “Is Chris home?” I asked, he frown but nodded “Good I need a word with her.”
