You'd Be Lost

Stevie jerked awake; she was laying in her bed, tears in her eyes, sweat covered her body. She sat up and automatically touched her four month pregnant belly. She pulled away her covers and looked down. No blood.
She breathed a huge sigh of relief.
She laid back down, trying to get her breathing under control.
How could she have a dream like that about Lindsey?
What was it supposed to mean?

Yes, he has broken her heart too many times to count but to actually do something as horrible as that to her.

The only truth to that dream was Christine would be staying with her till the baby is born and that, Kristen did have a miscarriage.
Mick had told her about it a few days ago when he picked Christine up from the airport.
He had told her how Lindsey was in a bad way, which is understandable.
Mick thought that maybe he could convince Stevie to tell Lindsey about the baby. Maybe this news could get him out of his dark cloud he was currently under.

But even then, Stevie wasn't sure if she wanted to tell Lindsey.
Some might say she was being selfish if she chose not to tell Lindsey and have her child grow up without a father.
She had already gotten used to the thought of being a single parent. She would raise her child on her own.
Stevie did feel sympathy for Lindsey; but she just couldn't bring herself to tell him that they were having a child together.

Stevie laid on her side and looked at her window, the sun was shining through it. She turned to look at the clock on her night stand. It was 9 am.
She groaned and closed her eyes; it's too early, she thought to herself. She wanted to go back to sleep but all she could think about now was that dream, or should she say, nightmare.
It had felt so real to her, it gave her chills.
She tried to shake it but it was no use.

After for a few more minutes of having her mind race and not being able to fall back to sleep, she decided to get out of bed. She pulled on her robe and tied it around her and made her way down to the kitchen.

She found Christine sitting at the kitchen table having a cup of coffee.
"Smells good! I'm jealous." Stevie said and chuckled.
She walked straight to open the refrigerator and grabbed a bottle of water.
"Good morning Stevie." Christine said. "You alright? This isn't your usual wake up time."
Stevie sat down and said. "I'm okay, just that...I had a nightmare and couldn't go back to sleep."
"Do you want to talk about it?" Christine asked.
Stevie bit her bottom lip then told Christine about her dream.
When Stevie was finished recounting her dream, Christine said. "Lindsey is a lot of things but not that. There is no way he would do something like that to you or to anyone else."
Stevie sat back and replied. "I know he wouldn't do that. I just want to know what the dream could mean."

They stayed silent for a few minutes.
"I was thinking of telling Lindsey." Stevie spoke finally finding some meaning in her dream. She was looking down at her bump, her hand resting on it. "I'm just...afraid that...Lindsey will somehow break this little ones heart."
Tears rolled down her cheeks; Christine stood up and hugged Stevie.
"Oh Chris! I just don't want Lindsey to walk into our baby's life and then walk away. I don't care if he hurts me again, but I can't allow him to hurt...my baby."
"Shhhh...it's alright Stevie. Everything will be okay. Look, you don't have tell Lindsey right now if you don't want to or at all for that matter. Just think it through which I know you will. You know that Mick, John and I will all be here for you to support you in which ever decision you make."
Stevie wiped her eyes and smiled at Christine.
"Thanks Chris, for saying that and for being here for me. I don't know what I would do without you!"
"You'd be lost!" Christine joked. "Just kidding. I love you Stevie."
"I love you too Chris."

And with that all of Stevie's fears drifted away...for now.
