Silence filled the room; Christine stood up and motioned for Mick and John to follow her into the kitchen. She knew that Stevie and Lindsey had a lot to talk about.
Stevie stared as they all filed out; Christine turned and gave her a reassuring nod and continued to leave the room.
Stevie took a deep breath and turned her attention back to Lindsey.
He just sat there stunned still staring at her belly.

"Linds?" She said.
Lindsey looked up into Stevie's eyes. There was a lot of questions that filled his mind, not sure which one to ask first.
"How far along are you?"
"Five months." She answered.
"Five months? That means...."
Stevie's heart was pounding, she closed her eyes, rubbing her belly and whispered, "You're the father."
Lindsey let out a breath he had been holding.
He ran a hand through his curls and let his tears fall. "Steph, why didn't you tell me? Obviously, I'm the last know as the rest of the band knows."
"When I found out, I wanted to tell you but, you and your wife were expecting as well and you had a lot a lot going on so I just...felt like I couldn't."
Lindsey was hurt and angry; he stood up and started pacing.
"Tell me Stevie, if I hadn't come today and found out myself, would you have told me at all?!"
"I...eventually." She said her head hung low.
Lindsey shook his head and continued pacing.
"Eventually! Eventually! When Stevie!? When the baby was born!?"
Stevie was sobbing. "Please don't yell at me!?"

After a few minutes, Lindsey finally sat back down next to Stevie.
"I'm sorry I yelled at you Steph. It's just...I had lost hope of having a child of my own. When Kristen miscarried, it broke my heart. When the doctor told us there was no chance of Kristen being able to ever carry a baby to term, I knew I would never heal. As time passed I began to try to pick up the pieces; I researched surrogacy and adoption. Getting all the information I could get my hands on; I've been trying to get Kristen out of the dark hole she is in, hoping she would maybe begin to heal herself and I suggested these options. Now, here you are here in front of me and are the light at the end of the dark tunnel." Lindsey stood up and got down on his knees in front of Stevie. "You're carrying a little miracle! Oh Steph! I don't know what the future holds for all of us, but please, let me be a part of our son's life; starting now."
Lindsey placed both of his hands on the sides of her belly. Stevie was still sobbing, but she nodded her head. "Linds, you can be a part of his life but...please; If you are going to be in his life, you stay in his life. Don't just walk in and out as you please."
"Never!" He said simply. Lindsey then pulled up Stevie's blouse to reveal her bump. He placed a kiss then began to speak. "Hey there buddy, you're probably thinking, who does this voice belong to? Well, I'm your daddy. Get used to it okay because I'm going to be around a lot more now." He said lovingly.

He looked up into Stevie's eyes and wiped away her tears. He pulled her blouse back down then stood up and sat back down on the sofa.
Lindsey took a deep breath and said. "Well, I better go and break this news to Kristen."
Stevie wiped away more tears that had continued to fall. "What do you think is going to happen?"
"She's gonna be angry, and hurt. After that I have no idea what's going to happen. Listen, can I come see you later? After I speak with Kristen? I can come and see you as soon as I can."
Stevie opened up her purse and pulled out a piece of paper and pen. She wrote down her phone number and address to her condo. He gave her a kiss on her cheek and with that Lindsey stood up and was out the door.
