Kassi flipped from page to page of her new book without looking up. It was one of those moments where nothing can break your bubble of peace.
Cole decided he was going to take a chance and try to break this stubborn girl's bubble.
"Hey, Kassi?" He said. The blue haired girl next to him hummed, meaning, yes.
Cole took the book out of her hands and tossed it to the side. "COLE!" Kassi yelled, reaching out to grab it. He smiled, stopping her. She growled when he lifted Kassi to her feet, "Relax. It's going to be there when we're done." "Cole, that's my textbook. I need that to study." "Is studying really more important than taking a break?"
Kassi ran a hand through her hair then sighed, "Do you really want me to answer that?" Cole chuckled then held his hand out. She glanced down at it then back up at him, "You want me to dance with you?" He nodded then proceeded to grabbing her hand, "And I expect a kiss after it." "Whoa! One or the other, don't be greedy."
Cole frowned but Kassi just laughed. "A dance or a kiss? Which will it be?" She said, smirking. He sighed then twirled her around, "A dance!" Cole spun Kassi around again.
She ended up tripping over her own feet and falling back on to the couch. "Oh God, I couldn't dance even if my life depended on it." She groaned, burying her face into her hands. Cole smiled, "Let's try that again!" "What? Cole, I'll fall again." " No, you won't. Just follow my lead!" Kassi looked up at him, skeptical. Finally, she gave in then stood.
"Okay, I'll try."
Cole took a step forward. He placed her hands around his shoulders and his down on her waist. He lowered his head to her ear and whispered, "Just follow my lead." He swayed from side to side. When Kassi joined in, he smiled.
Eventually, she decided she didn't want to dance.
"You're a good dancer, and a dork, but this isn't for me!" Kassi said, trying to pull away. Cole laughed then let her go. "I'm a dork? Look at the one who was studying a moment ago." Kassi scoffed then picked up her book.
"I have to get through college, Cole." "Yeah, I know." He walked up to her with several quick strides, wrapped his arms around her waist, and lifted her into the air. Kassi yelped, "Cole!" "You didn't finish the dance." "So?"
Cole playfully slammed her down on to the couch then let her go. Kassi swung around, preparing for a move of her own. But before she could, Cole pressed his lips against hers. His lips were so soft she could kiss him all day if she could.
Then he pulled away.
A whine escaped her lips. Cole laughed then turned towards the door, "I have to go find Zeke. I don't need him finding another girl to tell that story to." Kassi laughed. That story was how Zeke had met her. And that didn't end all too well for him.
"Bye!" She yelled. Cole opened the door and glanced back at her, "I love you." Kassi's eyes widened and before she could respond, he left.
I love you too.
