Eugene x Reader

You poked your head out of the side of the van, eyes glossing over the abandoned road several metres away from them. Your eyes scanned over the bridge overhead, then searched the construction site for any living beings. You didn't see anyone, but that doesn't mean there wasn't anyone alive. The two of you would still have to be careful while trying to cross through the site. Anything could happen. You had to be careful.

But, you were you.

You snatched Eugene's arm, an excited grin spreading across your face. "Let's go!" "W-What!? W-Wait! We c-can't-!"

Too late!

The two of you were already dashing across the road as fast as your legs could take you. Secretly, you already took out this site. There were so many machines for you to manipulate, you didn't even have to lift a finger. Well... maybe not a finger, but you didn't even lift your arm. You could see every inch of this place, so there was no way anything would surprise you. "FASTER!"

"WAIT!"

I wait for no one!

You lost your grip on Eugene's sleeve as you raced across the dirt, one goal in mind. There was a very large crane in the middle of this place, and you wanted to get there.

To the very tippy top!

"Wait!"

"Meet me at the top of the crane!"

"THE CRANE?"

The conduit behind you grew silent as you bounced from pile to pile, galloped over construction vehicles, and swung from the metal poles connecting other metal poles together. Feeling the breeze on your face filled you with determination.

When you reached the crane, you wasted no time climbing it. Your hands sought out grips using metal bars and rope, whatever you could support your weight on. You could see the top. There it was. So close. You could touch it. As you stomped your foot down from excitement, the metal bar under it snapped.

For the first time, you felt reality smack you in the face.

You were falling.

Reaching out for the crane gave you no benefit as you fell.

Oh no oh no oh no oh no owkxbwixnnwoxbeoc-

A pair of hands clasped around your waist, and you stopped falling.

You were rising!

You were at the top of the crane.

With Eugene.

You turned around to face him, face heating up from how awfully close you two were. "Eugene." He glared at you, "You're so stupid! Why did you do that!? You could've gotten hurt-!" You lifted a finger in front of his face, stopping him mid sentence. His eyes attempted to follow your finger as you tapped it against his nose.

"Boop."

He stared at you with a blank expression for a long moment. You waved, then jumped off backwards, revealing a set of wings that manifested from nowhere like a ghost.
