"I can't, Nash. I already have plans for today." I say through the phone, carelessly laying down on my bed. "Come on, Bri." He pleads.
"I can't. I'm sorry." I repeat. "I need you here, man. Please?" He pleads one more time. "Yo, I don't even know where you live." I reasoned, hoping he'd let it pass, though it was a hundred percent lie.
"Why you lyin'? You do know." He says, making me sigh. "I really can't go there. I already made plans with a friend." And by that, I meant Zach. We have been talking about visiting Disneyland for days now, and we have finally decided to go there today.
"But, this one's an emergency." That caught my attention, making me sit-up straight. "Why? What happened?" I ask, already running to put make-up on. I have to, okay? Don't judge me.
"You need to be here first, then I'll tell you." I roll my eyes at his stubbornness. "Fine, I'll be there in a few." I said, hanging up.
. . .
I knocked on the door in front of me, waiting impatiently for it to be opened. Seconds later, the door revealed a shirtless Nash, smiling at me.
"Now, can you tell me what the emergency is?" I ask, sitting on the couch like I owned the place. He shook his head, me, raising an eyebrow.
"Not until we get in the car first, and cancel your plans with whoever you made them with." He said, grabbing a shirt, and putting it on. "Why do I have a bad feeling about this?" I ask as he grabbed his apartment and car keys.
He shrugged, and started walking out of the apartment. Though I have no idea on what's going on, I followed him out of the apartment and to his car, anyway.
. . .
He has been driving for about 3 minutes now, and he hasn't told me what the emergency was. "Yo, Nash. You could tell me now, you know." I say, getting the AUX cord.
"Cancel your plans, first." He says, smiling annoyingly when he took a glance at me. "Gosh, you're impossible " I say, dropping the cord and calling Zach.
He answered after two rings. "Hey, Brooke." He sounded so happy and I already feel like sht for calling him to cancel our plans. "Yeah, hey, Zach." I say slowly, still having second thoughts if I should do it or not.
"What's up?" He asks, making me sigh. "I'm sorry but I have to cancel today. Some emergency came up, and it's just really important." I glare at Nash who looks like he was enjoying the scene before him.
"Oh." He sounded so sad, making me wanna punch myself until I pass out. "I'm really sorry. I'll just make it up to you." I say, pulling my leg up. "Nah, it's fine."
"We can just re-schedule it because I haven't been there, as well and I really want to go." I said, trying to lift the mood up. "Yeah, sure. Just text me when you're free." I can feel him smiling on the other line. Damn, he's such a nice boy, and I feel like absolute sht for cancelling our plans.
"Thank you for understanding." I said before hanging up. "Where are we going, anyway?" I ask. "To the airport." He says, non-chalantly, and as for me, my eyes grew wide.
"Why the fck are we going to the airport?" I almost shout. "Don't tell me the emergency is there, because I don't see any emergency there regarding you." I add.
"But, it is there. We're picking Cam up." He said, again, making me way more confused than a baby seeing twins for the first time. "What?!" I exclaim, upon hearing Cameron's name. "What is the emergency there, Nash?" I ask, pissed. Damn, this is what I get for caring for my friends too much.
