Rollan had enough with Kirat's snottiness. Suddenly, Rollan grinned at the thought as they made their way belowdecks. He remembered how he used to think Meilin as a snotty general's daughter. He saw Meilin glance at him but she ignored his grin.
The fox-faced Redcloak lead them into a small room with 4 cots set up and a table in the center. It was the same room they had stayed in when they were coming here.
"Ug, they're staying with me?" Kirat mumbled.
"There isn't enough room in our ship for each of to have a separate room." The Redcloak explained patiently.
Kirat grumbled to himself.
"You should lay down." Meilin said to Rollan makeing her way to cot ignoring Kirat. She laid him down bracing his leg up.
"Thanks." He mumbled but Meilin had already sat herself down at the table and was talking to the fox-faced Redcloak. "Never mind." He said to himself.
"I guess we jut wait here." Conner said from the cot next to him closing his eyes. "We've really never got time to relax."
"And now's not the time either." Meilin said suddenly appearing next to them.
"What do you mean?" Rollan asked not moving. "We can't really do anything here."
"Well as long as we're here, we're going to help." Meilin said determined, helping Rollan up.
"You mean we have to work?" Rollan whined.
"Well...not you." She said leading him to the arched doorway.
"Then where are we going?" Rollan asked trying to stop her but Meilin kept dragging him on despite his efforts.
"Your getting healed." Meilin replied simply.
Rollan stopped struggling. "What?"
"Your getting healed." She repeated.
"But I thought you were healing me." He said sadly.
Meilin paused for a moment and grinned at him. "Not anymore."
Rollan groaned. "Now I'll be stuck in an infirmary and I'll be alone!"
"We'll come visit." She said moving again taking him with her.
Rollan groaned."Oh come on." Meilin sighed. "You're getting healed. You'd think that you would be happy."
"I guess I am...but I'd rather be in your care." He whispered. He didn't know if she heard it not but if she did, she didn't show it.
When they finally arrived, Rollan was thinking about how cramped the place seemed. It was a room about the same size as the room they came from but it was full of cots, tables and all sorts of medicines. Everything was white, even the uniforms worn by the caretakers and nursed. The only other color was the red of the cloaks worn over every white uniform, the brown of the wooden walls, and the green cloak over Meilin's shoulders. Rollan had left his cloak at the camp in the pack he was using as a pillow.
"Oh dear, follow me." A caretaker said taking one look at Rollan's leg. She lead them to an unoccupied cot.
"Thanks." Meilin said as she and a nurse, who came over to help, lifted Rollan onto the cot.
"We'll take care of him." The nurse assured as the caretaker lead Meilin away.
"Bye Rollan." She said with a sweet smile then disappeared through he doorway.
"Bye." He whispered.
