Rollan peered above deck from the trap door opening and breathed in the fresh air. It hadn't been long since he'd been outside but it had been a while since he relaxed. He finally was able to push away thoughts of Meilin and Tasha and Conner and the Parasite and the many other things that worried him. He sometimes wished he was still a street rat roaming the streets of Conacobra only needing to worry about his next meal and escaping the wild dogs and orphanages. But then he would've never met Meilin...and the others at greenhavan. He would have never done many things like find his mother again and meet many great beasts. He would've never saved the world! He just couldn't imagine life without everything that had happened to him. It seemed like all a part of him and he it was. Of course some things that happened to him weren't...pleasant. Like finding out that his mother and Meilin were being controlled by Gerthon. He shivered as he inhaled another breathe of fresh salty sea breeze. It felt good. Closing his eyes he just stood on he last step, half his body above and half still below.

"Rollan." A voice said interrupting his peace. It was Shane. His mask was on again and he was looking at Rollan with confusion, or at least Rollan thought is was. It was hard to tell through that mask. "I saw you come up but then you just stood there so I thought maybe something was wrong."

Rollan flushed. "Nothing's wrong. I was just...are we almost there?" He asked instead stepping onto the deck.

Shane frowned. "Actually, we've changed our course to the Evertree." He sighed. "We will meet up with Meilin, Conner and...the summoner of Kovo." Shane's yellow eyes narrowed behinds his featureless mask. "Kovo." He hissed walking away muttering to himself.

Rollan could feel his heart jump at the fact that they were on their way to see Meilin. He smiled to himself.

"You seem happy." Tasha's curious voice said behind him.
He turned. Tasha was walking out of the stairway followed by Abeke, Kirat and Carbaro.

"We're going to the Evertree." He explained.

Tasha's eyes widened. "The Evertree? The beginning of Eradas?"

"I've never been there." Kirat said frowning. "And my father said I've been everywhere."

"You mean you've seen everywhere from your velvet covered chairs and silk laced room." Rollan snorted. Kirat scowled at him but said nothing.

"We're nearing the Evertree." A fox-faced Redcloak informed them. "Ready your provisions. Do you have weapons with you?"

Rollan nodded pulling a throwing dagger from his boot. Abeke held up her bow and quiver which only had about 5 arrows left in it and Tasha picked up a broom stick that was leaning against the ships bow.

The fox-faced Redcloak nodded. "Very good, now hurry and gather your stuff we will arrive soon."

Meilin would of picked something like that too. Rollan thought staring at the broom stick in Tasha's hand as Tasha unfastened be head of the broom. It was sort of like a quarterstaff, which Meilin excelled at using. Tasha looked up as the broom head fell to her feet.

"What?" She asked with a smile.

Rollan shook his head. "Tired." He lied. He just slept so he was anything but tired.

"I'm not going." Kirat announced. "It looks dirty."

"I didn't bring anything else." Abeke said ignoring Kirat and examining her bow and quiver given to her by LaReimaja. Absently she rubbed a spot on her wrist. It was where Uraza used to go into passive. Until Zerif took her...

"The Evertree!" Someone suddenly called. "It's gone!"
