Chapter 26 - Words That Cut Deep

You stood there schoked. You couldn't breathe or move.

"Here you go miss." The waiter said as he placed the sake on the table.

You continued to stare at Teach. You didn't knew what to do.

The rumor was true?!

"Oh such a cutie, as always. Thank you for the drink, honey." Teach said as he started to drink your drink.

What are you going to do?! This is Blackbeard we are talking about! He killed Thatch, who was super strong. You were a wimp. You couldn't do a thing without Ace's help.

You stood up loudly, making everybody in the restaurant looking at you.

Teach smirked and stood up aswell.

"You- you! You killed Thatch!" You yelled.

"As if it wasn't obvious. But you're making it seem like it's my fault here. If he would've just give me the fruit willingly, he wouldn't be in the situation he is now."

You felt your anger build up.

"You killed him and you're saying that you aren't the bad guy?!"

Teach walked towards you and grabbed your chin, making you look at him in the eyes.

"Look sweetie, let's forget the past. What do you say? Since you crossed such a long path to find me, why don't you join me?" He continued to smirk.

"Join you?" You repeated.

"Exactly! Join into my crew. Become my girl and you'll live as an empress." He said as he leaned closer to your face.

You closed your eyes and shoved him away from you.

"Don't make me laugh. You're a fool if you think I will join you!" You yelled.

"Well too bad. Let's put it in other words. Join me or you die."

You furrowed your brows. He was evil and disgusting.

"I rather die then to join you!" You said.

"Wrong answer sweety."

Ace stood under the dark sky, looking at the stars. All he had in mind was (Name).

He couldn't stand this feeling of emptiness. He made a mistake; a huge mistake letting her go.

Everything was his fault.

He felt the cold air hit his skin. Him being a fire-man, he wasn't affected by the cold as the others. (THE COLD NEVER BOTHERED HIM ANYWAY)

He took a deep breath before standing up.

He looked at the fire that was next to him. Next to the fire stood his hat.

He grabbed the hat and started to play with it. He then grabbed from inside a paper to his surprise, half burnt.

His eyes opened completly as he continued to stare at the paper.

Your vivre card.

He quickly grabbed something to write on a message for Luffy, for when he wakes up and ran towards the direction your vivre card was pointing at.

He will not lose you aswell. You were too important to him to let you die.

You breathe heavily. His power was way beyond yours. You almost didn't land any hit on him and even if you did, he was already healed.

"Oh? Did that hurt? I went easy on you darling. I am quite disappointed. I thought that that boyfriend of yours taught you something. I guess not. I would love to sit here with you and have a nice chat but... I have a reason why I am here. This was a warning for Portgas. Remember that." Teach said before walking away in the dark.

You stood there not knowing what to do. This was the second time- no. The third time you didn't knew what to do. You hated this feeling.

"The Marine Princess? Are you sure sir?" a group of marines showed up as they were questioning the restaurant owner.

Damn... This my dead line? I can't even move.

You then felt someone lifting up.

"Wha- Ace? What the hell are you doing here?" You asked.

"Shh! Let's save the stories for later."

You sat on soft bed as Ace made sure that no one was down the hall. He then locked the door and turned towards you.

"Why are you here?" You asked.

"I saw your vivre card burning... And I wanted to make sure you're alright." He said as he rubbed the back of his neck.

You bit your bottom lip, trying to not let any sounds of pain. Unfortunately, Ace noticed and made you sit on your back on the bed.

"What happened?" He asked as he lifted your shirt. Before he could go any further you slapped his hands and stood up.

"I am capable of taking care of my self, thank you. And what happened... Funny story actually."

"Was it the assassin your father send?"

"No... Much worse." You said. Ace wasn't pleased with the response he got and gave you a questioned look. You then continued. "I may have stumbled across someone we've been looking for, for the past couple of weeks."

"What?! You mean-"

"Teach... Yeah."

"Where is he?! Didn't you let hin escape, did you?" Ace yelled as he grabbed your shoulders.

"Don't touch me! It's not my fault! You don't even know how powerful he is!"

"Yeah. I sure he is." Ace said sarcastically.

You got angry at his words and stood up.

"Are you calling me weak? You're a- urgh! You son of a bitch! I trusted you! I put all my faith in you only to be with you! And you get angry over a stupid thing and break up with me like it's nothing!" You yelled.

Ace stood up as well.

"Maybe because it was nothing between us!" Ace fired back.

Both of you stood there shocked at the words he just said. He tried to reach for you but you shoved his hand away.

"Go away. Why are you even here? Just leave." You whispered as you felt tears streaming down your cheeks.

"(Name), please. I didn't mean what I said. I don't even know why I said that. Please." He continued to reach for you but you moved away.

"Just go. Please leave me alone, Commander."

Your words hit him as a razor blade but so did his. Words cut deeper then you may think.
