The town was a mess. The people that weren't caught into the attack or the ones that escaped, ran for their lives. Blackbeard had showed no mercy towards anybody.
Blackbeard grabbed the newspaper that was lying on the ground. The article was talking about Straw Hat about what happened at Enies Lobby.
"Zehahaha! He pulled one crazy stunt! Hey, look! It's an article on Straw Hat! Looks like he toppled the Tower of Justice. His bounty is going to skyrocket after that!" Blackbeard laughed as he passed the newspaper to Van Augur, who looked through it aswell.
"Enies Lobby is famous for Water Seven's sea train." Laffitte said.
"It isn't that far from here... This must be a twist of fate." Van Augur noted.
"For them to be within range... What a pitiable, unfortunate crew." Doc Q coaughed.
Burgess just laughed. "Let's just go, Captain!"
"Of course we're going! Zehahaha!" Teach laughed.
As they were walking, a body of a man crossed their path. Teach just hit the body (that was most likely dead or just unconscious) out of the way and continued walking. "Come on! Get ready to set sail! We're about to get busy!"
But as they were walking forward, they didn't notice someone who was standing on top of a rooftop, that was waiting just for them to show up.
"Oi! Hold it, Teach! I've been looking for you." The voice said.
"Huh?" Teach said confused. When he turned around, he saw the one and only, Portgas D. Ace, standing on top of the roof of building that was previously a hotel.
"Oh, what do you know! It's Commander Ace!" Teach exclaimed with a smile on his face. Ace only frowned at Teach's words.
"You have no right to call me that anymore. Use that title with respect or don't use it at all. Don't mock me." Ace said.
Seeing Teach again after all this time, and after what he has done, made him sick. The last thing he needed is to be mocked by this person.
"Oh, so you must be 'Fire Fist' Ace." Laffitte said as he stepped forward towards Ace.
"Yeah, that's me. Nice to meet you! I see... you've become a great captain in your own right." Ace said with a frown. "Isn't that right, Captain Marshall D. Teach of Blackbeard Pirates?" Ace continued.
"Zehahaha! Jeez, Ace! I haven't seen you in ages! So what's the deal? How'd you know I was here?" Teach asked.
"Teach, let's cut the idle talk! You should know the rules, having lived through twice as much as others. Isn't that right?" Ace asked in a dangerous voice.
"Yeah, I get it. But let me say something first! What do you say, Ace? Why don't you join my crew?" Teach asked. Ace didn't seem one bit surprised by the question. "Seize the world with me! I've already planned out how I'm going to rise up in power! Whitebeard's reign is over! I'll become the next Pirate King! For starters, I'm going to kill Straw Hat Luffy, who is in Water Seven, as a gift for the Government!" Teach continued.
"Luffy? What did you just say?" Ace narrowed his eyes.
"Oh! You know him?!" Teach asked surprised.
"Another reason I can't let you go free! He's my little brother!"
That surprised Teach even more. "What?"
"And naturally, there is no way I'm going to..." before Ace could finish, Van Auger shot towards Ace but the bullet went right through him.
