(Morning)
(Makaya's POV)
I woke up early today because I didn't want to be late for my first practice. I checked the clock and it was only 8:30 and practice starts at 10:00 so I had a couple of hours until practice. So I decided to order room service.
"Hello I would like to order breakfast please." I asked politely
"Of course it will be up in 30 minutes" the lady said with a thick accent
"Okay Gracias" I said then hung up the phone
(1 hour later)
I finished breakfast it was almost time for practice and I didn't want to be late. I grabbed my Nike bag and my room key and headed out I called a taxi to take me to practice.
"Thank you here is 20 euros" I said while giving the man the money
"Gracias" he said politely then drove off
I walk into the institution and I was greeted quickly. I was so nervous what if my teammates didn't like me. What if I'm not good enough. All these thoughts were going threw my head a man came up to me breaking my thoughts
"Hello you must be Makaya right" the man said with a huge smile on his face
"Yes I am" I answered with a smile
"Your coaches are waiting for you on the field" the man told me
"Oh thank you for letting me know" I said to the man
I arrived to the field and saw the other girls warming up. I went to the bench to put my cleats on and a girl came up to me.
"Hola my name is Beatrice" she said to me holding out her hand
"Oh hi" I said while shaking her hand my name is Makaya
"Makaya is an interesting name" Beatrice said
"Umm thanks I guess" I said awkwardly while tying my laces
"I don't mean that in a bad way I've never heard of that name" Beatrice said quickly
"Makaya doesn't sound like a Spanish name" she said
"Oh my mother is Nigerian" I told her
"So your mixed with Spanish and Black" she said with an interesting look on her face
"Coach is here come on let's go" she said while pulling on my arm
"Ladies we have a new member to our team this is Makaya" He said pointing to me
"Okay start stretching Mr.Santos will me here any minute" Coach said
Coach pulled me aside
"Makaya sorry I didn't introduce myself properly to you" he said
"It's okay" I said with a smile
"Okay you can call me Coach or Coach João" he said with a bright smile
"I'll call you coach" I laughed and jogged onto the field
I grabbed a ball and starting dribbling around the cones.
"Okay girls time to scrimmage" Coach yelled
It was kinda awkward since I didn't know anyone here so I just stood there waiting to hear what team I will me in Beatrice came up to me
"hey don't be shy by the way coach picks captains and the captains choose their team" Beatrice told me she was the only one helping me out here
"Oh thank you for telling me" I said to Beatrice in relief
"okay Julia and Olivia are captains girls choose your teams" coach said while jogging back to the benches
"Okay I'll take Bella,Aria,Ana,Camila and the new girl" she said staring dead at me
Which made me kinda get pissed off.
"Okay I'll get the rest of the girls" Olivia said while taking her team to the other side of the field
"New girl your going to play in the back okay" Julia said to me with a disgusted face
"Um okay by the way my name is Makaya" I said back to her and "why am I the only one so far back just because I'm new doesn't mean I suck"
"Listen here I'm captain and I get to choose your position and where you stand okay or I will tell coach" Julia said while rolling her big ass eyeballs
Like what the hell I don't even know this bitch and she already hates me like what did I do to her
"What are you staring at." someone said behind me
I turned around and saw Neymar fucking Jr talking to me damn his smile is contagious.
"Oh sorry I was um-
"Daydreaming?" He interrupted
"I have to go" I said nervously and jogged to my team and Julia must've saw Neymar talking to me because she gave me the dirtiest look man I wanted to slap this girl already and I've only been here for 2 hours
Has I was getting the ball Julia took from me and started laughing while dribbling to the other side of the field I was so annoyed this was the fourth time she did that to me I was just beyond mad it was my first practice and someone had to ruin it so Bella was nice enough to pass me the ball "Go I know you can take them" Bella said I started dribbling down the field and I saw Aria had a better chance of scoring so I quickly passed the ball to her and cut to the middle and she passed it back GOAL!! Everyone screamed even Neymar
"Wow Makaya that was a good play I love how you found the open player" coach said to me Julia was pissed
"Thank you coach" I said I wasn't that excited because I do this play all the time
"How come you're not excited" Neymar asked me
"Um well this is normal to me because I would always do this with my team back in the U.S" I said to him with a straight face
"Well at least smile" he said to me
I was confused by his words.
"Because linda you have a beautiful smile" he said while smirking "well I have to go but good job out there I'll try to come more often to see you play " he said the winked at me and said goodbye
"Bye" I said with a half a smile
