Chapter 15: SOS (we should probably help Pepto!)

For some reason, Pepto is always the one to get us into trouble, and sometimes, it is the other way around (he gets us out of trouble, but rarely... it seems that all of the trouble that we get into, is because of him)... But this time, he got himself into trouble, and I was sent out to save him. I have the best defense, that is because of my titanium like tornado shield. All I do is spin around and WHOOSH! I'm good.

Ok, so this is what happened. After Pepto and I ran from Elementar (which in my opinion was very unnecessary!), we ran down the corridors of the lowest level of the palace, Pepto lit the torches part of the way, until he couldn't make any more fire come out of his hands. We must have taken a wrong turn, because I auto-invisibled. Pepto called out my name... I couldn't speak, I guess my powers were trying to protect me. And when he called my name a second time, an Elemental Guard heard him. The man flew toward him and threw a dart rope with poison in it, at Pepto. I tried to move, and call out to them, but all I could do, was stand there, watching them shrink, as he dragged Pepto down the long corridor.

When they were out of sight, I could move again. "Man! I really have to tell the 'Tornado Twins' to fix that, although it was kinda cool." I yelled for him, and looked around. When I heard footsteps down the hall, I was sure it was the end of me, but the feet that made the sounds, belonged to a pair of giggling girls, who had just triumphed against their enemy. "Did you see how I made him dance?" The first voice said. "Yeah! No wonder he wasn't dancing at the ball! He has 4,000 left feet!" The second voice responded. "I wonder where they went." The first voice spoke again. "Probably now far, let me check the halls, speed style." And with that, I saw a fast blur of blue and white, the voice left behind a trail of ice. "ARIEL!" I yelled. Julie came up behind me, she heard my voice. "Are you ok?!? Where is Pepto? Wait... Where... Is Pepto?" She asked.

"I tried to stop them! For some reason, when we went down that hallway," I pointed to the way we went, "I turned invisible, and my powers wouldn't let me move, or speak... Pepto couldn't hear or see me, so he called for me... Then an Elemental Guard heard him, and captured him.. I swear it wasn't my fault. I think my powers were trying to protect me, maybe Pepto's powers just don't like him enough yet." I tried my best to explain what happened, then Ariel arrived. "I didn't see Pepto... what happened to him?" Ariel asked. "She JUST explained that!" Julie said through her teeth, she seemed annoyed with the fact that she had nobody to be mean to. "Hey, hey, hey! Just because they captured your human punching bag, doesn't mean that you can be rude to anybody else!" Ariel scolded her playfully. "Fine!" Julie faked a pouting face, and crossed her arms.

"So what are we gonna do about the hot head?" I asked. "Well, I vote that you put up posters like a lost dog sign, because you lost him, last time checked." Ariel recommended. "No no no! That isn't what happened... My powers stopped me from doing anything, probably because there was danger nearby, then his mouth got him captured." I re-explained. "Well, we should probably save him." Julie pointed out. "Come on." I led them down the hallways and I knew where to turn. "WAIT!" I suddenly stopped and held my hand out. I also ended up smacking Julie in the face and Ariel ran into her. "Sorry." I said.

When we looked up there was a hallway of traps. Laser beams moving in every direction, fire blasts, sharp rows of spikes, an endless pit of lava, a tank of piranhas, trap doors, acid rain, a field of poison ivy with a river of poison, a pool of ice cold water. Then past the door we heard screams. Then I heard a familiar voice screaming "NO! PLEASE ANYTHING! JUST LET ME GO!"

"PEPTO!" We all screamed. "It will take forever to get passed all these traps! These are our weaknesses! We cannot use our powers in this hallway or we will burn up and turn to ashes!" I said. "I guess we need to use our other training."

"I will do it." I volunteered. I counted under my breath timing the lasers. I jumped, ducked, then slid. Next up fire. When the fire went up it lasted two seconds and stayed down for one, I quickly jumped passed that. I got a running start and jumped over the spikes I made it but I got a few scratches. For the lava I climbed the wall near it and my shoe fell in. Dang it! I loved those! Next piranhas. I had to swim but then I accidentally turned invisible! I quickly swam through but when I came out I was covered in burns. "OWWW!" I yelled. I had to jump past the trap doors, then came my weakness the one thing I cannot control. Acid rain. I went halfway through then the acid got on my burns and started melting my skin. I could feel my blood boiling. "April!" Julie screamed. I saw Julie and Ariel run past the traps and acid fell in my eyes and I cried a tear of blood then my vision faded and the last thing I heard was the sound of my screams.
