I woke up to the voice of Landon.
"Hey, guys. Got a good nap? I hope ya did 'cuz we're here at the Angels of Light's Island. We have just landed and we will be taxied to the airport. The time is 9:30 pm. If ya look out your windows, it's rainin'. If ya need transportation, Tracy will be nearby when ya step onto the Angels of Light's territory. Welcome!"

I go to Tracy who holds up a sign that says "TRANSPORTATION" in big, bold, black letters.
"Hey, Tracy! I need transportation to Light's Palace," I say.
She nods her head and says, "I'll call Riley for ya," She starts to call him on her flip phone, "Meanwhile, how's it goin', Alex?"
"Great. School started again. First day today. Light messaged me this evening. I need to be their by 10 pm." I say.
"Well, Riley will definitely make that happen for ya tonight." And that's when Riley picks up his phone.

"Thanks, babe! See you soon!" Riley says as he drives off, away from Tracy. Silence falls in the car.
"So, you and Tracy?" I ask Riley.
"Yeah. For two Earth years now. I thought you knew, though?" Riley says, while driving and not looking up from the road.
"Nope. I've been workin' a lot in Atlanta. But, Light... Uh... Messaged me. I need to be their by 10 pm, Riley." I say.
"She messaged you?"
"Yeah. She said I broke a rule. And I don't know what rule I would of broken."
"Hmm... Well, Scar will be waiting for you outside of Light's Palace. Be done by 4:15 am or you will be spending the night at the airport." I nod my head.

"Thanks, Riley! See ya, hopefully, soon!" He drives off, waving goodbye. I walk up the stairs. Rain soaking my hair and shirt. I knock on the massive doors. An Angel of Protection answers and let's me inside. She leads me to the throne room. I open the doors and their, on the massive, golden throne sits the Messenger of the Angels of Light, my Messenger. I bowed down to her once I was 5 feet away from her feet.
"Alex," she says. I look up at her. Her voice is so soft. Her precious, long, red curls flow down to her waist. Her freckles spread across her pale face. Her grass green eyes look at mine.
"Messenger, I'm here 'cuz of your message. Which rule have I broken?" I said, standing up and looking up at her.
"You don't know which one, Alex?" She says, raising her left eyebrow.
"No, ma'am. I really don't know," I honestly say to her.
"Well, Alexander, you have broken the rule that states that one has fallen in love with a mortal female or male other than the mortal one is protecting," She says, "And that mortal is Jordan, Alex. I watched you today. The way you acted around her and the way she acted around you. I'm just warning you. Love is a dangerous thing to play with. It has sharp twists and turns that can mess with immortal beings like us and mortals. Alex, be careful with love. Alex, be careful with Jordan. Because, if you aren't, you could lose your beautiful wings." My wings come out from my back as she mentions them. Their beauty as beautiful as Light herself. She loves her Angels and if I had to lose my wings, she would be devastated and every immortal being would become more suspicious of her.
"Alex, she does look a lot like Samantha-" I cut her off.
"Don't talk 'bout her. Ya know how hard it was for me to die in front of her eyes. I couldn't help her. I couldn't come down for her. All I could do was watch. Watch her suffer. Watch her cry. Watch her die," I say, anger raising in my voice. My wings slump down as a single tear falls from my eye.
"Alex, I'm sorry about Samantha. I couldn't do anything about it. You were too young to go back down to Earth." She says, tears streaming out of her right eye only.
"If I love Jordan, I love Jordan. No one can do anythin' about it except, maybe, the God of Love... Have you ever fallen in love with a mortal, Light? It's hard to not love them. I'll try but, it will be harder to do than to say."
"Okay, Alex. Just try. If it doesn't work, I'll message you again. Thanks for coming. Your dismissed, Alexander." She says, tears rolling down of her right eye still. My wings go back to where they came from as I walk away.
Right before I open the doors, she says, "I love you, Alex. You will always be loved by me." I don't turn around.
I just say, "Goodbye, Messenger."
