I visited Jordan five times in the hospital. The first time was with Cass, Laney, and Izzy. The second time was with Laney and Jordan's father got into town. The third time was with Cass. The fourth time was when I was alone. The last time was with Alice and Alex.

Once Cass walked out of the room after saying anything to Alex, I sat down next to him.

"Do ya need another hug?" I asked. He started laughing and embraced me. He's the most sensitive guy I know. I think he battles a little depression. I can't blame him. His parents died when he was young. He lives with a foster family. We stopped hugging because he said it was just too weird.

"Sometimes I just watch her, never takin' my eyes off her. Waitin' for her to open them again n' see that I'm alright," he said.

"Dude, if that happened to Cass, I would feel the same. But, let's talk 'bout ya."

"Okay. I got here with her in the same ambulance. I was in the room next door. They took out the piece of glass in my leg. Now, I have bandage around it. It's pretty bloody. I can't walk, yet. So, I'm in a wheelchair but, only for a week. I decided not to go to school. Too much work n' I would miss her so much. Except for the headaches, I'm pretty fine."

"Dude, a wheelchair? That sucks," I say. He nods his head. Then, Cass grabs me and says its time to go. I say goodbye to Alex as I'm pulled out of the room. Great first visit, eh?

"So your Jordan's dad, right?" I ask Eric. He nods his head yes.

"And your Eddy, Jordan's friend, right?" Eric asks. I nod my head and we both start laughing.

"On a serious note, how's she doin'?" I ask.

"Good. Her heart's still beating. That's all I care about," Eric said, "But, tell me a little bit about yourself."

"I'm on the Boys Basketball team. I..." I start to say before Eric interrupts me.

"I was on my Boys Basketball team when I was your age. Varsity or Junior Varsity?"

"Varsity," I say, excited that I had something in common with Eric.

"I wish I got on Varsity. I only made JV. Then, I tried out for the football team and made Varsity my Junior year."

"My older brother's the quarterback." Eric was actually pretty cool to talk to.

After praying, talking, and telling jokes to Jordan, the nurse came in.

"What are ya guys doin' here so late?"

"We just wanted to check in with her. We're good friends of hers," I say.

"Okay, just don't stay too late. Ya probably have school tomorrow." And that's when we left. We totally forgot about school.

When I came alone, it was pretty early in the morning. And all I did in that hospital room was talk to Jordan.

"Hey, Jordan. It's me, Eddy. Just wanted to see ya. I'm alone this time. I just want to talk to ya if that's okay. The Boys Varsity Basketball team is doin' really well this year. We might get very far this year than last year. Today's date is December 21st. You've been in the coma for 3 months. I think you're givin' Alex depression. He's so sad. He's out of his wheelchair if no one has told ya. School's so different without ya. People come up to me and ask me how you're doin'. Everyone's prayin' for ya. Just open your eyes n' everyone will feel like a bunch of pounds have been taken off their shoulders."

The last time I came with Alice and Alex. We didn't talk to her. We just sat next to her. Praying for her in our heads. Alice hugged Alex the whole time. Sobbing into his shirt sleeve. It was January now. 4 months. She needs to wake up. She's killing everyone.

After an hour, Alex says, "Ya guys need to go. It's lunchtime. Go get some lunch at the cafe n' don't forget 'bout me." So that's what he did and we left the two of them alone.
