I woke up to the screaming of Lila. I fell out of bed, racing into the bathroom to find her screeching and holding a piece of plastic in her hands. I looked at her confused.

"What is it?" I asked.

"The test, the test!!" She screamed, staring down at it.

"Well are going to show me or not?" I inquired, agrivated. She shoved the test in my face, her hands shaking. I looked at the test, and saw a little plus sign. I smiled and hugged her with everything I had. I spun her around and kissed all over her face.

"I love you so much." She whispered in my ear.

"I love you too." I whispered back.

"I can't even explain how happy I am." She said, tears swelling in her eyes.

"It's okay, it's okay. Calm down." I whispered, holdering her close. It was going to be okay, wasn't it?

1 MONTH LATER

"Ms. King, are you ready for your surgery?"

"Mrs. It's Mrs." I corrected the doctor.

"Yes, of course. Right this way." He instructs, leading me to the operation room. Lila was in the waiting room where I left her. I sat up on the table, fixing my doctor gown I was forced to wear. The doctor looked at me uneasy.

"Are you sure you're prepared for the surgery?"

"Yes."

"Do understand there is only a 60 percent chance you will come out of this alive. Your cancer is far worse than we expected."

"I understand that completley. Just inform my wife that I love her, and I fought my way as much as I could, that is, if I don't make it." I stated, my eyes getting watery. He nods in understanding.

"Now please, lean back and close your eyes. This is going to knock you out for a few hours, hopefully. You will wake up." He murmers, and I nod. I leaned back, closing my eyes slowly. As I felt him inject the medicine into my viens, I took my possibly last breaths before falling into a world of darkness that I may never wake up from.
