Natasha's P.O.V

I remember Tony telling Steve about Pepper and their time apart. After that, I tried to find her and connect to her, hoping that she may give Tony a pep talk so we don't end up in a fight. Unfortunately, all I found is where she's currently staying.

I am few minutes away from where she is. I decided to drop by a cake shop as a peace offering for disturbing her and whatever trouble I may cause.

I entered the building and went straight to the main lobby. I was greeted by a guy who looks like in the same age as Sam.

"Good afternoon, ma'am. How may I help you?" The receptionist smilingly asked.

"I'm here to visit Virginia Potts." I replied with a smile.

"May I know the name, ma'am?" Then he dialed a number, which I assume is Pepper's.

"Na-Natalie Rushman," I replied.

"Are you expected?" The man asked again.

"No. I came here as a surprise." I said then I showed him the cake to give him the idea that there's an occasion.
Then he began talking through the phone mentioning my name.

I looked around first to familiarize with the surroundings. The place is grand, sophisticated, and full of people in corporal attire.

The guy called my name and gave me the room number. I smiled to him then left.

I wasn't able to knock because she's waiting for me outside her door.

"Natalie. So clever," she said without even saying hi.

"I'm sorry," I said as she guided me inside.

The room looks like a typical hotel with one bedroom.

"What happened?" She asked as she usher me down the couch in her living room.

"Well, I'm running again," was all I can say as I settle myself down.

"Why? Didn't you sign the accords? You were in the news about the explosion in Vienna," she said full of concern.

"I did but I turned my back to what I signed when I helped Steve and his friend to escape." I answered.

Pepper was surely thinking on what to say next.

"I don't want to get you in trouble. Just give me two days till I straighten this plan I have out of my head." I said.

She sat down and reached for my hand. A slight smile curved in her face.
