Kim's P.O.V

Liam left early the next morning to watch the rest of his team practice for their upcoming game. Liam had to sit out for the next 5 but he should be back in time for the final - providing they get there without him. I woke up to one of his usual sweet notes on his pillow, which had the scent of his aftershave lingering on it. I yawned as I picked it up and read the words 'Gone to watch practice - not sure when I'll be back' I scoffed, that made a change from his usual type of cutesy notes. 

I slowly got out of bed and went downstairs to see Alexandro, our butler, sliding glass shards into the bin. I sighed.

"That's the fifth glass you've broken this year Alexandro" I said. "You know when I said you could take 2 weeks off paid leave I thought you needed a break from working so hard-"

"No no no Kim, this was already broken when I came in this morning" Alexandro told me in his thick spanish accent. I frowned in confusion.

"Huh? That's not like Liam to not clear up after himself"

"I don't think it was Liam, I spotted it outside on the patio. One of those floating glass candle jars had smashed" I looked out to the patio to see one of the hanging candle jars missing. "Perhaps it was a bird?" Alexandro suggested. 

"Hm..." I walked over to the french doors and looked out to the dining table outside. There wasn't anything unusual in sight other than there were some chipmunks running over to the pool. I smiled at the cheerful scenery and beaming sun before turning around. "Yeah...it probably was a bird" I said, shrugging the matter off. 

Liam's P.O.V

'JAYDEN : Come on man you need to get out of the house!'

'ME  : What makes you think that?'

'ADAM : Well we havent seen you for a couple of days; we miss you man!'

I laughed and looked across from my phone screen to see Kim sweetly sleeping. Her lips were slightly parted, and her face was at a 45 degree angle on her pillow, as though she was looking across and up at me. She had a little frown on her face, the faint little wrinkles on her forehead made it seem as though she was in a bad dream. I cooed at her and lightly brushed the hair from her face. I sighed as I looked back at my phone. 

'ME : I dunno...I was planning to take Kim out today'

'JAYDEN : Liam! I'm not taking no for an answer, we're picking you up in ten minutes, you better be ready'

'ME : Nah I'm gonna give it a miss'

'SHAUN : Don't you keep saying that Kim keeps telling you to talk to Josh?'

'ME : Well yeah...'

'JAYDEN : Exactly! Maybe a little break from her is a good thing then!' 

I looked back down at Kim and remembered how she wanted me to talk to Josh, I remembered Josh and that stupid girl, I remembered...dad...

'See you in a bit then' I replied, before tearing the blanket off my legs and getting out of the bed.  I was about to walk out of the bedroom when I suddenly stopped. I heard Kim's soft snores and grabbed a piece of paper off the dressing table before scribbling down a few words. Walking over to the bed, I felt quite bad but I placed it down on my pillow before hovering over Kim for a few seconds. I sniffed sharply before walking down the stairs to see Alexandro walking into the house. 

"Good morning sir" He greeted pleasantly. I smiled. 

"How was your holiday Alexandro?"

"Very good thank you sir"

"Good, now Kim is still asleep"

"Ok sir, have a nice time - oh and I'm very sorry to hear about your leg"

"Don't worry about it"

"What about that time we went into town and Liam decided to give that journalist a taste of his own medicine"

"Oh yeah yeah! He started taking about a thousand up-close pictures of him?!" We all began to laugh

"Aw man could you imagine if Kim knew about that night?!" I joked. The coach came strolling over to us and folded his arms. 

"First my star player backs out of the games leading up to the final, then you distract the rest of my star players?" He joked, I tried to stand up.

"Don't worry, my doctor said that I should be back for the final coach"

"Well good, so what are you boys going to do tonight?"

"oh I'm going back home in a bit now" I said, Jayden tutted.

"Aw nah man! I thought we were gonna chill for a bit back at mine?" I peered down at my watch. 

"It's getting late..."

"What happened to you Liam?!" Jayden sighed. "But whatever, I guess we know who wears the pants in your house" All three of them began to laugh. I frowned.

"Oi!" They snapped quiet. "Let's get going then!" 

Kim's P.O.V

"Where is he?!" I screeched, Alexandro brought me a glass of wine over.

"Kim, don't worry" He soothed. "He'll be back soon"

"It's twelve o'clock Alexandro!" I shook my head slowly. "I'm sorry...don't worry Alexandro, you can go home now if you like" I said restlessly. 

"Oh no Kimmy I know you don't like to be on your own at night"

"It's fine, really, I'm sure Liam will be back soon" Alexandro smiled comfortingly. 

"Ok...if you're sure"

"Of course, see you tomorrow morning" 

One thing I hated about living in a luxury, modern house in California? It can be scary as hell when all of the walls are made of glass and everybody can see you from the outside but you can't see them very well. I sighed and picked up my phone. I rang Liam once again only to be sent to voice mail! I didn't get it, why was he mad with me? I didn't think I'd done anything wrong? I put my phone down and curled up into a ball on the sofa before wrapping myself up in the blanket and putting on a random film. 

'BOOM'

'BOOM' 

I suddenly awoke. I heard the clatter of the thunder followed by the lightning. I began to whimper as the lightening lit up the garden. I thought I could cope but when the lights started to flicker I began to tear up. I pulled the blanket up to my chin and looked around the room. The T.V was still in working order but I kept my eyes fixated on the darkness of the night, one moment everything was still, the next and it seemed the world was falling apart! I held my breath and cautiously got up off the sofa. I tip toed over to the glass wall and stared outside, waiting for the next strike of lightning to bring the garden to life. 

'BOOM'

'BOOM'

I jumped as I saw I thought I saw a distant silloheoutte on the oppposite side of the garden. I slapped the back of my hand.

"Don't be an idiot Kim, you're seeing things" I whispered to myself. I inhaled deeply as I saw that the garden was empty during the second time the lightning light the sky. I laughed as I turned to walk-

'BOOM'

"ARGH! ARGH! ARGH!" 

'BOOM'

"Kim?" I spun around and saw Liam standing in the doorway. I sprinted over to him and threw my arms around his neck. I began to sob hysterically and buried my head into his jumper.

Hey guys, I know it may be frustrating when I leave it on a slight cliff hanger and you want the next update straight away but unfortunately that would mean the story is over quite quickly so I'm going to just aim for about two updates a week - hope that is ok for everybody!
