The Letter

Kim's P.O.V

I avoided all of Josh's calls for the next week. Liam was desperately trying to get me to talk to him but he didn't understand...everything was going out of control no matter how hard I tried to keep things together. Selena was back and she was ruining everything. Everything me and Liam had created together here in California; she was destroying our livelihoods that we'd set up here...the life we created to escape from the harsh reality of our former lives back in London - our only link was Josh...and look what was happening with him. 

I skipped down the stairs to see Alexandro standing at the glass door, waving.

"Goodbye Liam!" 

"Where's he gone?"

"Oh, today is when he's getting his cast off"

"Oh my god...I totally forgot!"

"Liam knew that...he thought you had bigger things to be worrying about than his leg"

"No! Nothing is more important than him!" I said dramatially. Alexandro was slightly shocked. "Sorry...it's just that I didn't want him thinking he was alone...do you know which hospital he's gone to?"

"Erm no...sorry" I sighed and watched Alexandro walk into the kitchen when he suddenly stopped. "Oh by the way a handwritten letter came for you today Kimmy"

"Oh?"

"Yes, it's just on the island, I'll go fetch it" I followed him into the kitchen where he slid the letter across the granite surface. I quickly started opening it up - it was quite rare for me to recieve a handwritten letter. I was smiling as I was tearing it open...but my hands began to tremble as I scanned the letter and read who had signed it....

'Love From, 

Selena!"

I tossed the letter back onto the island and backed away from it.

"Are you ok Kimmy?"

"Burn it, burn that letter!" I ordered, before rushing over to the sofa and sitting down. Alexandro walked over and handed me a glass of water, alongside the letter.

"What is it Kimmy?"

"Alexandro...you wouldn't understand" I said, before taking a sip of water.

"Just try me"

I sang like a canary...I told Alexandro everything there was to know. He didn't seemed shocked or sympathetic or angry like us...he seemed emotionless! 

"I understand" He said at the end, I was close to tears but I just couldn't be bothered to let them roll down my cheeks...I felt drained. "But Kimmy...one thing I can tell you is that running away is never the answer"

"If we hadn't left we would never have got on with our lives though"

"Running away can only help to a certain extent...my advice would be to face this situation head on - it would be the only way you and Liam can get closure too"

"Hm...I just don't know what Liam would do if he saw her again"

"You don't know until it happens"

"What if she tries to ruin things for us?"

"Well Kimmy...she seems to be doing a pretty good job of doing that without even being here" I dropped my head to look at the floor. "Here" Alexandro opened up the letter and gestured it towards me. I cautiously took it from him before reading every word slowly...

"Dear Kimmy,

How have you been?! I bet you thought you could kill me off didn't you? Well no. I survived, I got resusitated! I've done well for myself actually, my husband - Steve - is the inventor of a very new style of kettle in fact, so you can probably tell that we live a very high end lifestyle; we are definately more rich than you and Liam and Steve definately makes me happier than Liam ever could've. He is often doing business around the world so I get to live in a luxurious mansion for free! It's amazing! But I'm not going to just talk about me. We have both recently heard the news of Josh and Bella...the little scamps! I was thinking we should all meet up, you know, to clear the air or whatnot. Let me know what you think of the plan...I look forward to our encounter...
