Chapter 4

I nearly about cried. I fainted from everything that happened. I fell on the floor hitting my head on the ground really hard. The next thing I know is I'm being lifted onto something soft and then everything goes black. I got a dream it wan't my regular dreams though. I dream that everyone I cared about died from a bomb explosion. I woke up with a jolt, because of this sudden movement my head hurt instantly.

John brings me a glass of water and some pain killers. I never realize me other best friend was here, Ashley. Her and John have been going out for a while now, and this night just made everything worse between everyone. John told everyone to leave to give me some space and to get some rest, but Jacob came after about 5 minutes. He sits down in a chair next to me and starts to talk to me. I couldn't really understand what he had to say, but I tried to stay with him. I ended up falling asleep and woke up the next morning to a door slam.

I get out of bed to see what was going on and I see Sam driving away. I ask John what was going on and he told me that Sam was mad that he had to go to boot camp in a few weeks. Sam didn't want to go to war he never even wanted to write his name down for the draft. In fact no one did. The next couple of days everyone could feel the pressure of the draft.

Every night Jacob took me out to dinner to get to know me and he didn't want to lose me because of the war. One night he was taking me back home when he stops in the driveway. He said that this doesn't feel right. At first I didn't know what he meant, but then he explained. He said that he felt bad that I would be left here. I told him that Ashley, Alex and I would be fine. But him and the guys didn't like how we would be left here alone during the war. I assured him that we would all safe while they were gone.

Inside of me I was crushed that my best friends and my boyfriend were drafted into the army. Before I got out he kissed me on the cheek and said he would text me when he got home. I got out of the car and went into the house. I see John in the hallway. He looked happy, like not his normal self happy. I asked what was he so happy about and he said that he was going to propose to Ashley.
