Oh my goodness I can't believe that John is going to propose to my best friend. I was so happy for them. I mean after everything has been going on they get something special. John showed me the ring and said he was going to propose at the summer dance.

The next day was the summer dance and Alex, Ashley, and I were getting ready together. I loved Alex's dress it was so pretty, and Ashley's dress was really cute. It was a masquerade dance. Well its more like a ball. Its a ball for people going away to war. So we had to go. That and the guys wanted to take us to a dance. We of course said yes. We all so excited. It was going to be the best evening since the war started.

An hour later the boys came and picked us up. We drove to the place where it was at and it was stunning. The place was decorated beautifully. We all started dancing in a big group. It was really fun. I went to go get some punch, when someone ran into me. I turn around and the guy takes off his mask. I see that it was my best friend, Ryan, from freshmen year. We dated before he left, but we were still really good friends.

He gave me a hug and then I see Jacob coming He doesn't see us hugging put I pull away before he can. Ryan asked how I was doing and I said good. We just kept talking and then Jacob came over to me. Then a slow song came on and Jacob asked to dance. I said yes because we're dating. I see that Sam and Alex are dancing together and John and Ashley. Jacob was about to say something, but was interrupted by someone. I see that Ryan wants to dance with me and Jacob lets him.

He said that he still loved me and that he can't stop thinking about me. I was speechless. He also said that he wanted to get back together. I look and I see John getting down on one knee. I can see Ashley's expression. John asked "Will you marry me?" to Ashley. I look back at Ryan and he leaned in and kissed me.
