Chapter Twenty-Two
Harry
Harry was mad, to put it simply. He learned from one of the demigods that “to protect them” the others went and stole the amulet back without him.
When Harry found them calmly and safely seated in the infirmary, he felt a flush of relief. Over the short time he had known the demigods and satyr, he had grown to like them.
Harry watched as one of the new boys (that looked like twins) took out an amulet identical to the one from Harry’s dream. “Is that the amulet?” he asked pointing to it.
Percy glanced at it and said, “Yes, it is.”
“How did you get it?” Harry wondered.
“Travis and Connor Stoll,” Percy said, gesturing to each as he spoke. “They’re sons of Hermes, we brought them here to steal it for us.”
“Because stealing is such a useful talent,” Connor—or was it Travis?—said sarcastically.
“It can be,” Percy pointed out.
“It’s not like we’re good at anything else,” one of the boys said.
“You guys are great,” Percy reassured them.
“We need to get this back to Hecate,” Annabeth said.
“Yeah,” Percy agreed. “Anyone got a box and a pouch full of drachmas?”
Percy sent a box containing the amulet to Hecate by something they called the Hermes Express. He connected a pouch to the box and put a few gold coins they called drachmas inside it. On a packaging slip he wrote:
Hecate
Mount Olympus
600th Floor
Empire State Building
New York, NY
From Percy Jackson & friends
and
Harry Potter & friends
Percy raised it, and then the box just floated up and disappeared. Harry was confused by their way of sending things, what about owls?
“Now,” Percy said. “Hecate should get that soon.”
“Right,” Harry said. “We’ve taken care of the amulet, but what about Neculai? He’s still out there, and he won’t give up easily.”
“He’s right,” Percy said, “and we need to stop him.”
“How?” Ginny asked.
“Now that Neculai can’t affect us with magic,” Annabeth said, he’ll have to go the old-fashioned way. Fortunately for us, we know some people who are pretty good at sword-fighting.” She nudged Percy with her elbow.
“Sure.” he said. “I’ll go one-on-one with him.”
“He probably knows how to fight,” Annabeth added. “And since he’s a descendant of the gods, we should have our best sword-fighter go up against him, to be on the save side.”
“Let’s do it,” Percy said.
“Don’t forget us this time,” Harry piped in, gesturing to himself as well as Ron, Hermione, Ginny, and Neville.
“Never,” Percy said with a grin.
A/N Teamwork! Yay!
Question 23=What does Percy say in The Mark of Athena after he comes out of the harbor with Annabeth's dagger?
"I think you dropped this."
