STEVE WAS RUNNING through the streets of New York and jumping on and off vehicles as Jane ran for her life, trying to help civilians as much as she could in the process.
Steve finally stopped on top of a car in front of the policemen, who pointed their guns to him. Jane quickly ran up to him, catching her breath.
"You need men in these buildings. There are people inside and they're going to be running right into the line of fire. You take them to the basements or through the subway. You keep them off the streets." Steve said as the policemen were confused as to why a walking flag were telling them orders.
"I need a perimeter as far back as 39th." Steve pointed. "Why the hell should I take orders from you?" A policeman asked.
As he did so, there was an explosion behind Steve and Jane and shots were fired. Out of instinct, Jane quickly held her arms out and formed a shield, protecting her and the men behind her from the shooting.
As soon as Steve proved himself trustworthy, the policeman repeated Steve words, ordering the others.
"Let's get back to the bridge." Steve said to Jane. Jane quickly shot him a look that anyone could see said, I literally came here for nothing, then.
Steve ignored it, and ran toward the way they came. When they got close to the bridge, it was clear that Natasha and Clint were having quite the trouble holding them off.
Steve jumped in just in time to shield the shot from the Chitauri as Jane ran from the back shortly after.
Suddenly, lightning were erupting and Thor came into view. "What's the story upstairs?" Steve asked him.
"The power surrounding the cube is impenetrable." He answered.
"Thor's right. We got to deal with these guys." Tony said, flying through the air with a bunch of Chitauris.
"How do we do this?" Natasha questioned. "As a team." Steve quickly replied.
"I have unfinished business with Loki." Thor said. "Yeah? Well, get in line." Clint said.
"Save it." Steve silenced. "Loki's going to keep to keep this fight focused on us, and that's what we need. Without him, these things could run wild." Steve turned around to look at them. "We got Stark up top, he's going to need us to-"
He was cut off by the sound of Bruce coming their way by a motorcycle.
"So, this all seems horrible." Bruce said.
"I've seen worse." Natasha stated. "Sorry." Bruce apologized. "No, we could use a little worse."
