song tip: one night stand - b-brave feat. sevn alias

"he never had a very strong family bond. he tended to sleep at my place a lot and went out regularly. i don't know what he was involved with, but i know he smoked and drank for some time. it started after he came out and his family wouldn't accept it.
"at one point, he'd stop reeking of smoke and shots, in stead smelling like expensive cologne, which i later learned belonged to his newfound boyfriend. he snuck out more regularly than usual, and eventually started sleeping at his place in stead. i let him tell his parents he was at my place.
"his mother, however, found out that he was lying, and got incredibly mad. she even smacked him across the face, telling him that homosexuality was not acceptable, and that he had to end things immediately.
"naturally, he didn't. he informed his sister that he would be keeping the relationship going — she did support him, but was in europe to study — and told his parents that he had ended it.
"unfortunately, three months or so later, his parents fell victim of a plane crash on their way to oikawa's sister. since she could not fly over immediately due to the crash, oikawa decided it'd be best to move in with ushijima permanently.
"ushijima was the only one he really was around in that time. i gave him his space, so we only texted, whilst ushijima devoted all of his time to oikawa.
"i think oikawa doesn't want to let ushijima go because ushijima was all he had at the time. he has no other home. at least, he's convinced that that's the case. he's to engrossed with repaying him to stand his ground."
"jesus christ," iwaizumi muttered, looking distressed. "well, whatever the reason is, we need to get oikawa out of there as quickly as we possibly can. it's not safe anymore." the teacher sat back. "his grades are plummeting and he has no money nor means of living on his own. i don't know what to even do."
"he could stay at my place."
"no," iwaizumi said immediately. "if it comes down to that, i'll take him in. he's going to be a total wreck, and you don't need that distraction."
"but he knows me, and—"
"sugawara, this is your last year of school. i need you to focus. teacher's orders, okay?"
sugawara reluctantly nodded. "yeah. okay. i just... i want him to be happy."
"he will be eventually. step by step. and step one is to get him away from ushijima."

avoiding suga was plain heartbreaking. everyone noticed, and everyone was confused about the situation. oikawa and sugawara were always too close for comfort, and now they didn't even come close to making contact in any way.
kuroo and bokuto sat with sugawara during the break, trying to take his mind off of things — and failing hopelessly.
"oi, suga, stop pouting, it's weird," kuroo frowned. "if he's being an ass, he's not worth the shitty attitude."
"he's no—"
"he is," bokuto interjected. "go flirt with daichi or something, start smiling. you not smiling is just scary."
"yeah. mom and dad should start making moves, jesus christ."
"we're not your parents!" sugawara scolded.
"yeah, right," bokuto mused. "anyway, i'm going to go to aghkaaghshi, and since he's probably with daichi, i'm making you come along."
"bu—"
"no buts. only butts."
"what?"
"nevermind him," kuroo smirked. "time to get you laid."
"i don't want to get laid," sugawara sighed, exasperated. well, maybe he did — by oikawa, that is.
"yeah, well, too bad!" bokuto chirped, standing up. "let's go!" he grabbed one of suga's wrists, kuroo taking the other. together, they dragged him through the classroom.
oikawa watched them. he lowered his eyes to his book. bokuto and kuroo probably didn't like him in the first place.
they were better off without him anyways.
-
"oi, akáááshi!" bokuto shouted, running over to him.
"please stop butchering my name, bokuto-san," akaashi told him, stoic and pokerfaced as ever.
"aww, akaaghshjii!" he pouted. "it's more fun like this?"
"please stop butchering and insulting my name, bokuto-san."
"eek! i'm sorry!" he exclaimed quickly, stepping back.
"oi, sawamura!" kuroo called out. the brunette looked up, smiling when he spotted the company.
"hey, kuroo, sugawara."
"hi, daichi-san," suga smiled back.
"where's the brunette friend?" daichi smirked, surprised and guiltily pleased to find them apart.
"oh, dunno," sugawara shrugged, looking a little dejected.
"hmm, tooru's going through a rebellious phase. best not to provoke the teenager," kuroo mused. "we don't like anger issue oikawa."
"kuroo, i swear to god, stop with the parent metaphor already," suga groaned. "it's awful."
"trouble in paradise, eh?" daichi chuckled, rolling up his sleeves to his elbows. "sorry 'bout that."
"it's not your fault," suga chuckled sadly, scratching the back of his neck. "he'll get over it."
"yeah. i suppose," daichi shrugged. "as long as you don't suffer."
"hmm?"
"oh, uh, i mean — as long as you're okay, that is. i mean, just because it wo—"
"it's fine, daichi-san, i understand," sugawara smiled warmly at the boy's behaviour. "thank you. i really am okay."
"good," daichi said nervously, looking at the silver haired boy, heart racing. "good."
sugawara's fond expression didn't fade, and daichi almost blushed to death in the presence of his one and only crush.

long, howling sobs into the bedsheets. rain slamming onto the windows. street lights illuminating the figure of a bruised and broken boy.
the only thing on his body was his white t-shirt and ushijima's heavy scent. the man had left a few minutes previous, out to drink with friends. oikawa didn't care. the assault wasn't changing, sober or drunk.
it was sickening. up until this year, everything had been perfect. ushijima was his saviour. how could he not love him?
his phone buzzed. he didn't look. it was probably sugawara. resisting the temptation to call his best friend was already difficult. reading his texts would make it impossible.
maybe iwaizumi was right. maybe he should call someone. maybe he should just go.
but where?
ushijima was his home. and as abusive as he was, the natural sense of security that washed over him when ushijima's scent was picked up was strong enough to sway his decision.
he'd have to stick up with it.
