That Day

Your POV:

It's been a few weeks since Hope and Kelley's wedding. Everyone returned to their NWSL teams, except for them who were on their honeymoon.

I was traveling to Houston to cover the Dash vs Seattle game.

"We're staying in the hotel after right?" Lea asked looking up from her laptop.

"Yeah. Already booked." I said.

"And Aiden? Is Garrett sure he doesn't mind it?"

"Positive. He loves the kid, Garrett did grow up with 4 older brothers." I finished packing my bag. "Is he  done packing?"

"For Houston or for Garrett?"

"Houston. We've gotta go." I walked to Aiden's room. "Buddy you almost ready?"

"Yeah. Mom packed for me." He stuck his tongue out.

"Spoiled." I growled. "You ready to go?"

"YES!" He yelled. He took off and left me with his bag. Carli told me to bring him. Promised she'd help him work on his midfield shots.

I brought his and my bags to the front door and checked my phone.

*knock*

I opened the door. "Oh hey." Stephanie McCaffrey and Kristie Mewis walked through the door. "Sure come into my house." I shut the door.

"Steph wanted to talk to you and didn't feel like driving." Kristie said walking straight to the couch.

"What's up Steph?"

"I asked if you were gonna be at the game this weekend but I was told you'd be in Houston."

"Yeah. I'm going for the Houston vs Seattle game. Aiden's coming too."

Aiden walked into the kitchen. "Hi Steph." He waved.

"Hey kid." She looked back at me. "What about Morgan?"

"What about her? There's nothing."

"But are you guys friends?"

"It doesn't matter if we are or not. I'm there for work and that's it."

"See Steph? I told you."

"Look. You both are making a mistake." She said. "I love Lea you know that, but you and Morgan was something special."

"Exactly. It WAS something special. That's over now. Morgan realized what she wanted and it wasn't me."

"You honestly believe she's happy? You think next month is gonna be the best day ever?"

"It doesn't matter what I think Steph. It's not my life, it's hers and I'm not apart of it. I'll support her through whatever but her choices don't effect me." I turned to the door to go to the car.

"I saw your reaction that day Y/N." She said. "No one was more shocked than you."

I sighed and opened the door. "I have a plane to catch." I said. "Aiden let's go bud!"

He ran out and towards the car. Lea came downstairs. She said hi to Kristie and Steph and came outside to say bye to us.

Steph needs to forget that day. I know I did.
