"Have you ever thought to go away and never come back? Run away and lose your tracks, to go to a place far away and start living again, living a new life, only yours, really live? Did you ever think?"
Luigi Pirandello

"Hi Yurika." Tenri Hiiragi, full dressed and with his sparkling sword on the side, was facing her, few steps separeting the two. The girl swallowed, but didn't answer. Tenri was looking at her, smiling. "Don't you greet?" Yurika stayed silent. She knew exactly what was going to happen and she must be ready to face it. She looked at the figure in front of her, trying to predict his move. The man narrowed his eyes. "As usual you have nothing to say to me." "Why, would you listen to me?" "I'm a busy man. I have no time to listen to whims of a kid, I'm interested only in very important things. For example..." "G-give me your power!" But her voice shook too much. The man laughed. "You don't seem to be sure, but... I may help you." And he smiled mischievously. "You're nothing, you're worthless and..." "I know you aren't Tenri" "Yes. I had understood that" the figure of the man vanished giving space to a black shadow. "As I said, I can help you. We can show him that also you are worthy to bear the name of the Hiiragi family" Yurika listened carefully, probably it was a trap. "It's not for this that I want power. I... I want it to defend myself from him." She said resolutely. She saw two crimson flashes lit up in the shadow. "I've immediately understood that there was something weird in you. I like you. I'll give you my power, but pay attention, it won't be easy to keep it. My name is Kurena."

Yurika opened slowly her eyes, her face tear-stained. "Good. You made it." The voice of Guren brought her back to reality. "Now you can officially join the Moon Demon Company." But there wasn't much enthusiasm in his voice. Yurika sitted down, having a look round. "Well done!" shouted Shinya. "I'll go to say it to Kureto!" And he disappeared. "He has gone away almost immediately, maybe he..." "Come on, Guren. I've imagined it." She lowered her gaze on her weapon. A blood-red sword, the pitch-black hilt was decorated with precious stones and it ended with a crystalline sphere. She turned up her nose as she thought again about the demon's words. "Now you can kill vampires with it, aren't you happy?" She stared at the purple eyes of Guren and she nodded, tring to seem convincing. "What I should do now?" asked Yurika with uncertainty. "Probably he'll call you." And also he left. She remained alone in that room.

She looked around observing the weapons around her. There were weapons of all kinds and of all shapes: swords, spears, arrows and some had strange shapes she couldn't recognize. All weapons that could kill vampires. She shivered. Now also she would have been forced to go around killing them. She imagined the blade of her brand new sword covered with blood, a spasm of vomiting came up from her stomach. She sighed. She couldn't have done anything, anyway. As a member of the Hiiragi family, but especially as the daughter of Tenri Hiiragi, she was expected to have a position in the army. Nobody cared if she didn't want beeing a part of it. She didn't want to take up a sword to kill, even if they were vampires. Tenri didn't care about her thoughts and every time the girl tried to speak about that, he didn't even listen to her. The only thing she managed to do was posticipate the exam to obtein the weapon, but also she knew that she couldn't go on like that forever. Mainly the patience of Tenri had a limit and the girl had gone too far from much time. For that this morning her excuses didn't help the man in changing his idea. So she found herself, trembling with fear, in that infamous room. Tenri insisted so that her, an Hiiragi, owned a weapon of a higher level, insisting that it was impossible that she would fail. "He was right about that." She whispered to herself. Another question filled her mind. What kind of weapon it was? A materialization one or a posession one? She hoped for a materialization one, with all her hearth, but something was telling her that it wasn't like that. She schewed up her courage and took the sword with a hand, she lifted and went out from that hell.

Shinya Hiiragi knocked at her door. "Ah. You hadn't come back yet." He said smiling, than he pointed his gaze to her blade. "Wow, Yurika, that swors look great! Have you chosen it to imitate your big brother, right?" Yurika turned up her nose. As if she would like to imitate the brother. "Well... No... I liked it." Shinya smiled at her. "Listen, now you posses a weapon and Tenri would like talking to you." A cold shudder went through her spine, than she nodded. The fair went with his speaking of the Moon Demon Company, but she didn't pay so much attention. Shinya left her and she, after taking a deep breath, went in the room. "Goodmorning, father." She glimpsed the figure of the brother out of the corner of her eye. "Kureto." "You can sit down, if you wish, Yurika." The girl obeyed at the order of her father. "I'm glad. Finally also you have a weapon. Kureto is going to take care of your training. You are going to start tomorrow. Than we will decide how and when you will be able to be active in the army." There was a pause. "You are an Hiiragi, I expect great things from you. Follow the example of your brother." "She's in good hands." Kureto said. Yurika looked Tenri Hiiragi in the eyes. "You don't have to worry. I will do my best, father." Yurika knew perfectly that, from now on, her life wouldn't have been that easy.
