"No stupid approaches the fire after he realized it's hot.
No one, except those with a valid reason to get burned."

Yurika relaxed when she saw the gates of the city in the distance. She was glad to be able to go back to that place she called home. She had never been able to feel the warmth of a real home, but at least she could be certain that within those walls she would be safe. Safe from death at the hands of a vampire, because her family could become truly ruthless. This made her think about her sister Mahiru. "Yurika, I thought I was going to debrief." Said Shinya. The girl recovered from her thoughts looking at her brother upset. "No, you need to be treated." Shinya tried to protest, but she stopped him before he could. "No buts, Shinya. I go. When you're done and if you care so much you'll may go as well." "Shinya, don't tell me you can't wait to see Kureto or, worse, Tenri?" Said a male voice. Shinya sighed. "No, actually..." Also Yurika smiled. Guren looked at the girl. "I had never noticed how long your hair were." He commented. "And they're also good." Added the Colonel Goshi. She remarked both confused, then she walked on down the headquarters wondering if she'd actually had to see her father. She sighed. Fortunately, the mission had ended enough well. There were no serious injuries, and they had taken over the city. The only problem was the noble vampire. He had acted in a strange way, especially if she thought about what he did with her hair and the words he told her. She was a little scaried, but maybe that was a normal reaction.

After she reached her destination she knocked and waited. "Come in." Yurika bit her lip. It was the voice of her father. She took a deep breath and went in. "Hello, I'm here to debrief." Tenri stared at her with wide open eyes. Also Kureto, sitting at the desk, looked ar her a little weirded out. Tenri recovered immediately, but he couldn't abandon the contemptuous look he had for his daughter, but she didn't realize that. "How was the mission?" Asked Kureto with do business like. "Fine." "And what does it mean?" Said Tenri irritated. "We managed to free the city... but we had a problem." She whispered with a small voice. "What kind of problem?" Asked her brother concerned. "A noble... pretty strong." Both men seemed surprised. "How strange..." Whispered Kureto. Tenri glanced over to his son. "It doesn't appear that your information is accurate." Kureto lifted his gaze on him. "It's not my fault if a noble decides to pay a visit to a city. But how did it go? There have been losses?" Yurika shuddered and, unwittingly, she passed her hand on her right arm. "No, just wounded." "So you killed him? Well done." The girl pointed her gaze on her hands. "We didn't kill him." Tenri darkened. "What does it mean?" "What I said." The man stared at her. "You escaped? I mean, how did you..." "He went away..." And she lifted his gaze meeting her father's gaze. "Ferid Bathory." She added. Tenri clenched his eyes. "Pardon me?" "The vampire noble named Ferid Bathory." "You got to have a conversation instead of fighting? Looking for some fun, huh?" The man had started screaming. "It's not my fault..." Yurika tried, unsuccessfully, to defend herself. "Have you by chance decided to go on a date together?" "Dad, what..." Kureto also tried to calm the man. "And don't you think that your hair are too long, do you? Wouldn't it be the case to cut them, would it? But no, use them to seduce the first vampire you met!" Yurika looked at him confused and hurt. Seduce? Her? A vampire? How could he even think such a thing? "I'm done." She stood up and, without waiting for an answer she came out, going to the hospital.

She remembered all the times Kurena had vainly attempted to possess her in similar situations. She had given up for a while; in fact, even if the fights with her father were sick, there was a part of her that managed to resist and who was trying to get the upper hand. In part she seemed to be able to bury that part of her that, as a child, expected to see a change in her father, something impossible that could never happen.

She reached the building and searched his companion of mission. She past an open door and she saw Guren. "Hey, Yurika!" "Hello, Guren. How are you?" He huffed. "They say I have to sit here for a day, just in case." "I'm sorry." "Why? These things happen when you fight those monsters. In our world you need to be prepared for anything." Yurika disliked having certain speeches. "How's everybody?" She asked trying to change the subject. "They were discharged immediately. They had almost nothing..." An awkward silence felt between the two. Yurika sat next to the man.
"What happened before I got here?" "Nothing important, I observed the walls." The girl smiled. "I didn't mean now." Guren looked at her for a moment. "What do you want to know?" "What happened... I mean. You were in four and, you know, he was going to kill you..." "I was also using the second pill..." "And then you complain because you're here." But more than anything else she was surprised, she would never have the courage to risk so much, maybe she didn't have his determination. "However, we had just finished a group of vampires. Then he popped up. Shigure and Sayuri were unseat almost instantly, he flew Shinya somewhere and then he dedicated himself to me. With me he even waited for the effect of the pill. Soon after I found myself on the ground, until you came along. You know the rest. By the way, were you lucky enough to meet your father?" "Apparently yes." "Lieutenant Colonel, what is all this about?" They were interrupted by the entrance of a raven haired boy. "Kureto is right, you should take care more of their discipline." "Not you, too." "Guren how are we going to practice?" "Yuu, in case you hadn't noticed..." "Guren. I was just leaving." "Wait, Yurika. You should be more interested to the angels, you know?" The boy looked confused, but she knew immediately what he was talking about. The "Seraph of the end". "I never really loved those things." She replied annoyed. "You should, instead, they might hold some surprises." The guy kept looking at them with confusion. "Let me introduce you. He is Hyakuya Yuuichiro. Yuu, she is Yurika Hiiragi." She watched the boy briefly and then stared at the man with hate, before she left without saying anything. Yuuichiro looked Guren confused. "Never mind, she's like that." And he sighed.

Yurika ran towards her room. That pun of Guren had particularly irritated and scared her. It seemed like he knew what she was doing. Still, no. She was getting caught up in paranoia. He couldn't know her objectives.

As she come to her room she removed the hated uniform and boots, remaining in her shirt. She remained looking at her in the mirror. "And so I should as well be interested in the angels." "Maybe it could be really interesting." Kurena's voice rang out in her mind. Yurika sat on the bed. "The point is that I don't understand why he told me that. What was the need?" "Perhaps he simply misread your interests." The girl thought about it for a moment. "Yes, I think you're right. And then... well, there's no harm in trying. Perhaps this research could be useful." She went to the closet and took the folder containing her notes. "I know by heart the process leading to the creation of a demonic weapon. I think if I have any chance to help you, I really need to focus on the sword and the curse. Lately I was also thinking about another thing, you know?" The figure of the demon appeared at her side. "What exactly?" Yurika stared at the paper on the table. "A vampire becomes a demon when he can no longer bear the thirst, after days he isn't drinking blood and he dissolves. Becoming a demon." "I remember it very well, Yurika, no need..." "Yes. It's a rather important thing. Because if you can't recover your body we would end up facing two rather series issues. You could go crazy for bloodlust and... Probably attack me as I'll be the person closest to you, but, precisely because of this thing, I'm afraid that if we act badly you may miss an opportunity." "You talk like you know already how to..." "Pretty much, but I have another problem besides these. Dominate the curse." Kurena vanished. "You'll bring down to their level?" "Do I have another choice?" Murmured the girl. She thought of the boy that had occurred in the room of Guren. Yuuichiro Hyakuya. Now that she thought about it that name wasn't new. At least two people had appointed that name. The first was her sister Shinoa... Yes she was tasked to supervise him at school, while the second person was Guren... as he spoke of the "Seraph of the end", then suddenly she remembered what he had said a few days before. He had three guys who had managed to pass the exam to the weapon and wanted to create with them a team led by Shinoa. "What a strange coincidence... Yes, I guess tomorrow I will start to deepen my knowledge about angels." "Maybe your brother will appreciate your interest." The demon intervened again. "Maybe I could tell him that I would make myself useful and in order to do so I need to know what he's up to, but I think it's better to go slow."
