(Seven)

Snow started barking which meant that my parents were already up. It was 9 in the morning. I was still feeling pretty sour about the whole Jerold thing so I decided to go for a jog outside to clear my mind. I started jogging and it actually made things worse. I was thinking a lot more now like, what if Rachel starts to like Jerold? Or Rachel finds Jerold's joy and humour to be what she needs in her life? Would I still have a chance against this guy?

I got back to my house and remembered that I haven't texted Rachel since last night. My phone vibrated, and I picked it up faster than the speed of light. I thought it was Rachel, but it was just Jay.

"Rivers! Go online! Let's play Heroes of Newerth." (An online, strategic game.) Jay messaged.

"YES! Give me a minute." I replied.

That's exactly what I needed. Something that was going to take my mind out of Rachel and Jerold. I hurried up to my room and switched on the computer. We played non-stop, except for lunch and pee breaks. We played so long that the whole day passed and it was time to get ready. I took a shower and chose the second best shirt I had since I already wore my best shirt before. Just like what Bas said, I was going for war. You can't show up in a war without a gun. I went down, and said goodbye to my parents.

"Have fun tonight. Stay out of trouble alright?" Mom said.

"Behave and send our regards to Rachel." Dad said as my mom giggled at the side as if she was watching some romantic soap opera.

"Yeah, sure. I'll be home really late, don't wait up for me. I'll be responsible, don't worry." I said.

I got in my car and drove to Jay's house. The weather was a bit gloomy, making me feel worse. Great, even the weather was against me tonight, I thought to myself. I got to Jay's house. I rang the doorbell as Jay's mom answered the door for me.

"Hey Damon, how are you? Bas and Jay are up stairs,." Mrs. Larkin said.

"Good-evening, Mrs Larkin. I'm good, my parents said hi." I said as I went up to Jay's room.

I opened the door without even knocking. "Rivers! Save me! Jay is trying to molest me!" Bas yelled. Sometimes I wonder why Mrs. Larkin allows Bas to continue coming over.

"Christ Bas, can't you just shut up like forever? Damon, come in I'll fill you up with the battle plan." Jay said.

"I haven't texted Rachel since last night. It's just really a bummer, the whole Jerold thing." I said as I sat down at Jay's bean bag chair.

"Damn it Bas, didn't I tell you to wait until he got here so that he doesn't transform into an emotional bitch?" Jay said.

"Come on, you know I have the worst memory in the world. Plus I can't lie to Damon okay! But yeah Damon, get your balls together and stop being such an emotional female canine." Bas said.

"Anyway, the girls are going to the open party with Chad. We stick together and go there in your car. Jerold and Maia are surely going to be there, but we have bigger problems." Jay said as he walked towards his table.

He sat on top of it and scratched the back of his head. "Audris is really pissed at me. I ditched her yesterday for this chick I met in school. Rachel is most probably mad at you as well since you are such a bitch for not texting her. Betty is going to be mad at Bas, well cause he is Bas, and cause all of them are against us. I know it's weird, but that's how girls are. To sum it up, the girls are against us tonight unless we find a way to make it up to them." Jay added.

Bas stood up wearing just his boxer briefs. "That is not true okay, Betty loves me!"

So Jerold was surely going to be there, and Rachel is pissed at me. Things couldn't get any better than that, I thought to myself. It was 9 in the evening and we were ready to go. We said goodbye to Mrs. Larkin and walked to my car.
