The morning light slipped through the curtains directly hitting my face. There were no signs of an epic hang over, since (a) I felt perfectly fine, and (b) I never really had one before so it was tough to know whether or not I had one.
I saw Jay sleeping, while Bas was nowhere to be found. I couldn't help but think about everything that happened last night. It all just seemed so fast. From graduation, to Lindsey's confession, her epic break up, then to one of the most amazing nights of my life. Though the changes in my lifestyle were slowly evolving, some had to stay the same. It was Sunday meaning I had to go back home for church service. Since I knew Jay and Bas drank quite a lot last night, and were surely exhausted from all the planning they had done for the after party, I decided not to wake them up and just drive back home.
I pulled over in our garage, and entered our house. My Mom was already up cooking breakfast for all of us when I got inside. "Good morning son, how was your night?"
"It was actually pretty awesome. Decided to stay over since I drank quite a number of alcohol." I said.
"It's fine. Go get your sister, breakfast is almost ready."
I went upstairs to wake up my sister. Surprised as I entered, it seemed as if she was waiting for me as she sat only inches away from the door when I opened it. "I've been expecting you, brother."
"Let's eat weirdo."
My sister is one of the craziest kids I know. In 2nd grade, she found super glue inside our garage and brought it to school. There was this other kid, Tracey Madison, and my sister hated him so badly that she sneakily placed super glue on top of poor Tracey's chair. According to my sister, the moment he sat down was the most confusing moment of his life. Tracey then stood up together with the chair that seemed impossible to detach. My parents were then called by the principal that same day.
"So how did it go last night? Did you finally get over Lindsey?" She asked.
"You're too young for this kiddo. Anyway, I'm starving."
So we went for our Sunday Mass and headed over to this nearby mall to have lunch. "Damon before anything else, let's get one thing straightened out. You do well in college and I won't stop you from going out over the weekends. You drop down on your grades, you can't go out. Deal?" Dad said.
"You got nothing to worry about Dad." I said.
We finally got home and I decided to go online in Stamp Messenger. Stamp Messenger is basically one of those online chatting softwares where you could add people and create group chats. Before FaceBook became the norm of social media, this was how we communicated and shared our profiles among a vast number of contacts.
IAMJAY07: "Wassup guys, last night was damn awesome huh? "
FartMouth123: "I woke up to the worst hangover ever... Yo Damon you're coming with us this weekend right? Actually that wasn't a question, let me rephrase. Yo Damon you're coming with us this weekend."
DamRiv13: "Yeah I'm down. Where are we going anyway? Can I stay over at your place again Jay if I ever I get a bit dizzy. I don't want my parents to flip out."
IAMJAY07: "No problem bro. Uh, this Saturday we're going to this club called Saturday Night Lounge. Chad and Chase are coming too. It is going to be S-I-C-K."
FartMouth123: "I need to vomit again guys, see you on the weekend."
Since I was on Summer break, there was really nothing much to do. I would usually just play video games all day waiting for the days to pass by. Finally, it was Saturday. Jay texted me that the plan was to meet up at his place at 8 p.m then figure out where it goes from there. It was already 6:30 in the evening so I decided to get ready for tonight. As soon as I opened the door, my sister suddenly popped out from nowhere.
